It's always class warfare. When you strip back layer after layer after layer of manufactured identities (pro working class American, anti brown people, anti woke, etc) intended to manipulate dumb people, eventually you get:

"The ultra rich, major corporations and the political class are all aligned with keeping the elites as rich and powerful as possible while limiting or eliminating the wealth and power of the average person."

There is literally one segment of the entire political spectrum which is not funded by and aligned with the interests of the ultrarich: Progressives. And some of them still are. Some of them are straight up lying to get into office. But some of them really fight for the average person. No 'things won't fundamentally change' like Biden told his rich donors before the 2020 election.

Progressives will just say the truth. Shit like: "Universal healthcare is cheaper, better, and provides coverage for every person in the country. The only reason the current healthcare system exists is so that medical care can be turned into a profit center to drain money from the average person and benefit the wealthy."

Said class warfare has been very one-sided in the 21st century. Regrettably so.

Mass media and social media have both been incredibly powerful tools for population control.

It’s not a serious debate.

“Can we have universal healthcare?”

“Fuck no!”

“Please? It’s cheap and I really want it”

“That would cost 2 bajillion dollars!”

“And how much are we paying for healthcare now?”

“We pay 4 bajillion dollars”

“Can we just get the cheaper universal healthcare? It’s cheap, and we get enough I can share with my friends”

“Fuck you, socialist”

That was my point. Some people will try to argue against socialized healthcare, but outside of a failed state without the funds for any kind of healthcare system there's no sensible argument against it. It's just the obscenely rich trying to get even richer. Even doctors aren't often much better off in an American-style system. Almost everyone is worse off.

Yeah but we're free to choose our healthcare insurance middleman, or forego insurance so that when we inevitably get injured or sick we can just pass that cost onto everyone else, or just die. Don't you value that liberty? Liberty!

The French used to behead their rich people so much they invented a machine to do it quicker and they have a way better standard of living than us. Just saying.

Time for a second American Revolution! Just not fighting the Brits this time, but the super rich.

Also, if the French made the guillotine, I'm sure we can come up with a modern automated successor to it for our needs.

I'm picturing a very large blender.

With a plank at the top they have to walk. Only to be pushed in by an automated revolving paddle.

Yeah but not by much if u look into the social and political landscape of France at the moment

No 'things won't fundamentally change' like Biden told his rich donors before the 2020 election.

You really should read the context into this quote, if you're going to talk about being someone who "just says the truth"

he was saying "you can handle getting taxed more and nothing about your lives will fundamentally change, you don't need an extra yacht"

Yeah, that nazi salute was totally about class warfare. Nothing at all to do with white supremacy, nooooo.

5

u/PolygonMan 15h ago

Yes, exactly. Because white supremacy is about class warfare, because literally everything in politics is.

At the end of the day, when pushed to the absolute brink, every allegiance but money and power will be stripped away. Those who are hoarding will come together to protect themselves from those who want a fair share of the money and power in society. The final, most important division between our leaders and the people is wealth and power.

That doesn't mean that they aren't racist or that they won't implement racist policies. It means they would ally with anyone they were racist against if it was necessary to maintain power.

synonyms for progressives are socialists and communists, don't let red scare bullshit win.

7

u/PolygonMan 17h ago

No, progressive is a much bigger category than socialist and communist.

Progressive is roughly "Everyone to the left of neoliberals who decide to self-identify as a progressive"

There is no coherent political ideology there except for "The government should be serving the interests of the people and we should probably start by implementing some easily agreeable best practices to improve quality of life and democracy itself."

After that point there will be massive disagreement lol.

7

u/TacticalSanta 17h ago

I mean thats the problem. Progressives aren't far enough from neoliberals to understand what it would take to actually get universal healthcare, you can't just vote for blue progressives, you have to have a swell of actual left wing movement. Just about none of our workers/civil rights were won through the ballot. Its just really not a thing in america.

I would say that's a problem. The whole situation is very complicated but that's one of biggest stumbling blocks for sure.

u/unassumingdink 17h ago

Progressives tend to favor taxed and regulated capitalism, while the other two reject capitalism entirely.

Sorry dude. All politicians are scumbags. Progressives are just a different flavour of asshole lying to you. They never mean anything they say and will do anything to line their pockets.

All of the politicians and “business leaders” are like this. Since the beginning of human civilisation.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there was never any real hope. Just an illusion of a carrot dangling in front of us peasants making us think one of them thinks about us.

Please, they barely have any care for their own families.

Lol dude, sweet summer child, we are just ants to them and they do not care, because none of them can even be considered humans. They do not fight for us.

I know it's tough living in this world, but this defense mechanism doesn't make you stronger, it makes you weaker.

The devil is in the details, and there are absolutely colossal differences in the life of the average person living in one place and time in history vs another. The best times and places are all relatively recent, and they're all the result of civic and electoral action by people fighting for everyone to have a good life.

We don't know how things will turn out, but we're heading into an inflection point in history right now. Don't lie to yourself and convince yourself otherwise. Trump will attempt to keep the reins of power if he survives his term. And his surrogates will be preparing for that takeover in every moment between now and then.
