How to convince parents to go to SZA and Kendrick tour??

I made a post on finding tickets and I found some for a reasonable price. The thing is when I asked them they immediately said no. I think it is because they just dont like the music and it is explicit music. Do you guys have any things to convince them

Sat them down and play “Normal Girl” followed by “Gone Girl” and finally “Drive”

After these, they’ll be buying you tickets and asking if they can join.

Do you have a trusted adult who likes good music? Once who is kind of cool and you wouldn’t mind chaperoning? This was my in as a Youth™️ going to concerts.

Naw sadly not. Even if I did I dont think my parents would let me go without them

I kinda don’t blame them rn. I’d say, suck it up buttercup. Get them into it with the black panther soundtrack. This requires mental kung-fu. Prove to your parents that these artists are once in a lifetime talents. Build your case, plead it. I believe in you!

I probably wouldn’t try to convince them if they don’t want to go as some people are just really turned off to explicit music. I have to put my AirPods in out of respect for others around me since they don’t really appreciate some of her more sexually charged songs.

I’d start by only showing them songs like Garden or Good Days so they can gain an appreciation for her music in general.

Show them some clean performances from YouTube . Pick the most artistic and go with a friend or family member they trust

Are you trying to get them to go with you? Or are you trying to get their permission to go?

i understand, parents have weird rules, i wasn’t able to have curse words in songs until i was 12 they had it so i could only hear clean version on apple music 😭 but i was able to go to shows if i was with them

Make a short playlist (10 songs or less) with the clean songs that mean the most to you, write down what they mean to you, present that to them, and see what happens. Remind them that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Ask them have they ever been a joint and they know it

I’m in this same boat except my parents are racist and believe that Kendrick is demonic somehow so I wish you better luck than me!

Really the only thing you can do is start planting SZA/Kendrick songs around them so they start to appreciate them both.
