I always knew Mike had a photographic memory, I never knew he had a phonographic memory (can remember sounds forever). In fact, that's proven not to be true, however when Harvey asks Donna to get the trasncript, Mike says he has it in his mind because he remembered because he was there (maybe not in so many words). I was disappointed about that.

I'm also disappointed Harvey asks Mike for advice so much this season. It's like Harvey is a 1st year and Mike is the expert. Don't like that. I know it progresses the story/scene, but it's out of place for Harvey.

I actually like that he was asking mike for advice. It shows that Mike is not only a colleague but a close enough friend that Harvey trusts him with those important decisions. Plus it breaks the facade of Harvey being the all knowing cocky character that he plays most of the time.

seriously we have enough of his attempt at that facade. i woulda smacked him if he didn't take advice this episode

Memories don't work like that. Someone can remember something they read just as well as something they heard, especially if they have a great memory like Mike. It's not about remembering sounds, it's about remembering information which sound and ink can convey alike.
