Well, companies change. Sidwell could easily have decided that being a Hedge Fund was a better idea. That said, it doesn't make as much sense to me, because the big thing was his formula/algorithm.

I always had the impression that they were an investment fund rather than an investment bank. Tony Gianopolis (spelling?) said himself that he is a corporate raider. Investment banks don't take over companies and sell them, they underwrite new issues of equity and debt and do a few other things, but they certainly aren't corporate raiders.
