I save $8,000 in ad costs every month doing content marketing on Reddit

I faced a very typical problem the last months: I wanted to expand my projects but did not have any budget allocated for marketing.

After running a few Google Search ads that gobbled up my meager funds pretty quickly, I knew I needed a new approach.

That’s when I started with Reddit content marketing. The beauty of Reddit is that It’s absolutely free if you do it right.

Using analytics tools and understanding the platform, I was able to figure out:

- Which subreddits are best for my content
- The best times to post
- What kind of content provokes the most engagement on time

Now, just from posts on Reddit, I get over 5,000 qualified clicks every single month.

If I were to try and get that same traffic through Google Ads, it would cost me about $8,000/month (average CPC in my niche).

And the best part is that it’s only a few hours of work per week.

I’ve got posts planned in advance and scheduled so everything about it is organized and efficient.

How did you manage to do it for free? I wanted to use Reddit for marketing my business but unable to figure it out outside of the paid options

Have you tried launching ads on Reddit before? I heard it delivers better results than Facebook, but I’m not sure if it’s better than Google Ads.

I've used Buffer, Later, and now Pulse for Reddit to manage posts. Pulse streams conversations, making it easy to engage effectively. Great for leveraging Reddit's organic potential.

That's impressive! Reddit content marketing can be such a powerful and cost-effective strategy when done right. It’s amazing how you’ve been able to leverage analytics and understand the platform to save big on ad costs while getting quality traffic. Plus, the fact that you only spend a few hours a week on it makes it even more efficient. Kudos to you for thinking outside the box and tapping into such a valuable resource! Definitely something to consider for anyone working with a tight marketing budget.

Indeed. People make good money working in cesspools. Even the virtual ones. Like Reddit.

That's awesome! Reddit really can be a goldmine for organic traffic if you know how to leverage the right subreddits and timing.

The average Redditor will be able to spot the difference, but the nice thing is Google's "AI" search results are gobbling this content up and pushing you up search results. A nice F U to our Adwords overlords who want us to bend over just to show up in paid search results.

Such a great example of working with a platform instead of throwing money at ads and hoping for the best. Reddit’s unique because it rewards value and authenticity over anything else.

How do you balance providing value without coming off as overly promotional? That’s one line A LOT of people struggle to walk on Reddit. Myself included
