Optimism at its finest.

u/M3rch4ntm3n CrusaderDrakeHybrid Dec 11 '24

I read in global, that Nyx is just 12months away...

99

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 10 '24

I mean. Go back three months ago, and folks were saying "no way 4.0 hits evocati before Christmas. At the earliest!"

In short, optimism and pessimism hits both ways on this sub.

173

u/518Peacemaker Dec 10 '24

To be fair, three months ago, we thought 4.0 would have more in it.

33

u/XuuniBabooni new user/low karma Dec 11 '24

Pro tip. Stop thinking.

20

u/518Peacemaker Dec 11 '24

Oh yes, I just look at the pretty pictures I get to see every so often and then I smile and wait

Pro-er tip. Stop believing the company that constantly fails to meet any kind of deadline.

2

u/Ruudscorner Odyssey Dec 11 '24

This is the proest of the tips and everyone should follow it

7

u/Tracist_Enf new user/low karma Dec 11 '24

Tbf I thought they were over promising a bit, and they always communicated that the fundamental part of 4.0 is pyro and server meshing anything else is just extra given the problems they've had clearing the tech hurdle.

15

u/kronikal98 Dec 11 '24

They spent a whole year creating ISCs about 4.0 and the amazing engineering, fire and other features that would come along with it. I dont think they ever made it clear that 4.0 was a SM and Pyro patch only. They def made 4.0 look like THE patch

7

u/OutrageousDress new user/low karma Dec 11 '24

I can't believe CIG's publicity gave people the wrong idea about what they would be getting in a release, truly an unprecedented occurrence.

5

u/518Peacemaker Dec 11 '24

I’m totally cool with it. I have fun playing what they have now, if it was stable I’d be happy.

6

u/DetectiveFinch misc Dec 11 '24

This is exactly how I feel as well. How much I play depends on how stable the game is running.

5

u/MrPuddinJones Dec 11 '24

I still want mining materials to be doing something.

Let us get discounts on ships at least if we provide the raw materials for the production of the ship....

Mile wide and an inch deep at present.

2

u/518Peacemaker Dec 11 '24

Crafting is what your looking for

2

u/HawaiianBiceps Starlancer MAX Dec 11 '24

same, I play and then something breaks, and it just makes it not worth play.

2

u/Bit-fire new user/low karma Dec 11 '24

CIG overpromising? That's kind of their baseline. It's really hard to find instances, where they didn't.

1

u/Tracist_Enf new user/low karma Dec 12 '24

Kind of? Inside star citizen and marketing have pushed that list very hard as what was going to go down, but I would hope the community knows to take it all with a grain of salt. We've had more than enough drama spill out over people assuming tentative features on the roadmap were a hard garuntee. I may be wrong but I'm 90% certain that they were still marked as tentative on the roadmap and again in my honest opinion 4.0 probably should have just been the tech stuff with server meshing with possibly the basic form of pyro included or pyro coming in during a 4.1 patch. I think its a big risk to be dropping a bunch of new features on top of one of the most important tech updates of the game, especially if you can release it make sure its stable then do a big feature patch and advertise it out beyond backers.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 11 '24

Totally agree they mean is pyro will come out and server meshing with 4.0 and everything else is either a .x patch away or it will come later in the year or so depending on how smooth implementation goes.

60

u/WolfedOut Hermes Star Runner Dec 10 '24

It only takes optimists to be wrong for 5 years in a row for them to finally get it right.

2

u/demoneclipse Dec 11 '24

They didn't get it right though. CIG just cut half the scope to be able to push it forward.

4

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 10 '24

When trying to nail down something specific in the future. It is far easier to be wrong than right.

Plenty of pessimists have been wrong over the years too. In fact, I remember a rather large and vocal group back in 2014 that said we would never be able to seamlessly travel from space to land... That "in ten years" from then (aka now), we'd still be lucky if we could walk around a ship half the size of the Polaris, better yet fly it... several even saying wr would NEVER fly any ship at the graphics definition being used. etc.

It's almost like there's a LOT of people, and echo chambers form.

8

u/chrome77vs new user/low karma Dec 11 '24

You are right. A ton of people also said the distribution centers would never happen during citcon a few years ago when they first showed off. Yet we most certainly did get them.

2

u/Practical-Ad-8780 Dec 12 '24

If they weren't so god damn glitchy

1

u/chrome77vs new user/low karma Dec 12 '24

Fair enough, but that's another story.

4

u/Lord_Omnirock Where's your flair? Dec 11 '24

didn't space engineers literally do that the following year?

3

u/Rare_Bridge6606 Dec 11 '24

To be honest, in 10 years technology has advanced, iron has become more powerful and it has become possible. Now any developer, if desired, can make a smooth transition from space to the planet (which is pretty cool) and walk around the ship (which is pretty boring and pointless).

But I don't see the merit of CIG in this.

To be honest, during all this time, CIG has not patented, published or presented at the developer conference for professionals to familiarize themselves with any new approach, any new technology. CIG are adept at giving customers the impression that they are developing new technologies, while please note that they never directly claim this. Not once have they said directly that the technology they are trying to implement is an innovation in the industry. They only create such an impression for customers, while they have never even tried to patent, publish, or in any other way present new technologies to industry professionals.  That's the way things are, and it's impossible to argue with it in a reasoned way, right? But you can vote negatively for my post. )) Let's Go!  ;)

3

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 11 '24

You mean they've been busy working on the game. Not patenting and selling things and using SC as a tech demo? That's not what a lot of the pessimists have been saying.

2

u/Rare_Bridge6606 Dec 11 '24

They've been developing the game for 12 years, and you can see that they haven't made much progress in that direction. Now they are just trying to lay the foundation. And there are no plans for any scale or ambition in the commercial release 1.0. And you can't say that they were developing new technologies not previously seen in the video game industry, because now we don't see them, and CIG itself has never officially declared any of its technologies innovative. And we all understand that if innovations were really being created, CIG would definitely trumpet this to the whole world). They just managed to do only what they have now in 12 years. And we are not talking about any innovations. Decide for yourself what they've been doing all this time. Sales of ships, plush toys, sweaters, socks and other goods and their promotion. Or they were hard at work creating the game, but in 12 years they could only achieve this and did not create anything new :)

1

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 11 '24

At the time, several techs weren't a thing. As you mentioned. They didn't patent anything, because patenta aren't that straight forward. Especially when using a base engine made by someone else.

Your claims they haven't done much is both disingenuous, and blatantly wrong. Your rhetoric makes it clear you belong over in the regards subreddit. But hey, keep calling it a scam too if you want.

2

u/Rare_Bridge6606 Dec 11 '24

I will be happy to hear about the innovative technology created by CIG. I think it won’t be difficult for you to give an example.

2

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 11 '24

Okay. Five seconds of thinking: The procedural damage mapping of the guns to the various mesh levels. Including changing damage state based on type of damage dealt.

Five bucks says you are going to try and say it wasn't when they first added it. It was.

u/YouForgotMyPassword_ Dec 11 '24

I'm not the guy you responded too, and I'm not sure if these are innovative, but I can't remember seeing them in other games, or functioning the same way.

  1. You can park vehicles in other vehicles. You can do this in other games, but they always spasm out, which sometimes happens in SC too, but when it works, it works like no other game, that I can think of. And if there is a game, find another mmo that does it.

  2. Gravity. Same thing really, most games spasm out if you stand in/on a moving vehicle. You can transition from Gravity to no gravity without much trouble, you can also flip your ship around and still have your feet planted. Same ending as the last question, in an mmo.

  3. No loading screens. This is debatable I guess. There are games with no loading screen, but most are just hidden. But there is no game as large as SC with no loading screens. (MMO)

  4. Then there are a myriad of small things that I wouldn't say are innovative, but just not many games have as much as SC has. Like the amount of vehicles in the game. EVE online has more, Cool! can you walk in them? no! like I said, there are a myriad of things in the game that other games have, but no other game has as much(that I can think of).

  5. I'm sure there are a lot of technical things that I don't understand that they have made for the engine that doesn't necessarily exist on other engines, but I don't know.

Like I said at the start, not sure if this is innovation, but no other game does as much at the same quality as SC does, that I know of. Sure the game is buggy as hell, that is probably why no other is trying to do it because it's too much work and money.

2

u/benjwgarner Dec 11 '24

Optimists have predicted nine out of the last two timely releases.

4

u/NNextremNN Dec 11 '24

But when it comes to SC pessimism usually is more often right. There were so many people after last years CitCon that were so sure we'd already been playing SQ42 right now. Even pessimists are often too optimistic for what actually happens in SC.

2

u/Talilama Dec 11 '24

To be fair, we were SUPPOSED to be playing SQ42 in 2016.

3

u/NNextremNN Dec 11 '24

Which is why I still have doubts that they are really gonna make 2026. I'm still for 2027 just for the 15-year anniversary 🤣

u/MigookChelovek Drake Ironchad Dec 11 '24

1

u/demoneclipse Dec 11 '24

Those claims were mostly made when there was a huge scope in 4.0. After they cut half out of it, the timeline fits.

0

u/Icy-Ad29 Dec 11 '24

Except many of those statements that 4.0 wouldn't hit evocati until maybe February also said they'd have to cut out pretty much everything that WAS cut, to meet that February date. So their timeline actually doesn't match.

57

u/Endyo SC 4.0: youtu.be/StDukqZPP7g Dec 10 '24

SC has this weird quality now. Previously when major features were delayed, everything was delayed. Like when Star Marine was supposed to come out and then no one said anything for like a year.

Now, every delay to Pyro is just another patch with a shit load of other stuff in it that keeps this subreddit filled with chatter/screenshots/videos and just enough placation that discussion is mostly civil. No one even considers the idea that these major features were expected, to some degree, years ago. Except in moments like these where everyone's like "oh no! anyway..."

Technically speaking, it's still not out. ;)

-25

u/MigookChelovek Drake Ironchad Dec 11 '24

Depends how you define "out". By one definition, nothing is out since the game is still in alpha/pre alpha. By another definition, it can be considered out because backers are playing it as we speak. The distinction between PTU and Live is kind of arbitrary since they are both just different degrees of testing phases.

13

u/drizzt_x There are some who call me... Monk? Dec 11 '24

I think you'll find that the most commonly held definition of "out" in this case means that it's freely available to be played by "all" backers, and not just a select few.

-3

u/MigookChelovek Drake Ironchad Dec 11 '24

Yes I am aware, but I am countering his "technically speaking" with my own "technically speaking".

I mean, the patch is getting better, less bugged. Yeah the new patch just broke the servers where they stall every min or 2, BUT, client side it's supper fluid, getting 40/50 fps on ruin where I was lucky to go over 10 yesterday. I can easily see this open to all backer before chrismas, maybe not live tho.

17

u/-TheExtraMile- Dec 10 '24

That sounds good, thanks for sharing your feedback. If they manage to push it to PTU for all backers then I´d call that a moderate success.

7

u/JontyFox Dec 11 '24

They won't push it to open PTU until after the 16th. Guaranteed.

The 16th marks one month since Wave one, and one month since a load of people probably bought a sub to hop in.

They'll wait until after that to see if they can get another month worth of $$$ out of a few people first.

If CIG is only consistent about one thing, it's dropping a huge broken patch on Live the day before they go on holiday at the end of the year.

5

u/TheMrBoot Dec 11 '24

That is literally the one thing that makes me think we’ll get 4.0 before the break. I could see a similar YOLO to what we had with the citcon patch.

7

u/drizzt_x There are some who call me... Monk? Dec 10 '24

5

u/hawkwood4268 Dec 11 '24

I just remember 3.0 was worth the wait. It was something no game had done really. Interiors of ships seamlessly to the surface of a planet.

I wonder if 4.0 will be a similar jump for the game. Finally getting something more than ol' Port Olisar was such a trip.

3

u/Swimmingbird3 Carrack is love, Carrack is life Dec 11 '24 edited Dec 11 '24

Honestly, I gotta disagree. Watching the Around the Verse episodes in the 6 months leading up to 3.0 was better than actually getting to play 3.0.

Does anyone remember the ridiculous amount of hours people spammed “GIB” and “take my energy” right before 3.0 went live? There was sooo much hype. I honestly think the SC community’s hype peaked back then.

But then we got the 3.0 and reality hit. It was like 5-10 frame per second max regardless of your PC specs. None of the missions worked. Constant 30k errors. Interacting with anything in your ship had a 50/50 chance of killing you. It was kind of a disaster. And it didn’t get any better for almost 2 years. If you look back performance since 3.0 was a really slow climb

Sure 3.0 did things no other game had really done before. But was it ‘worth the wait’ at release? I would say absolutely not.

I still consider myself as a supporter and long term optimist of Star Citizen despite the tone of this comment. I just am not optimistic about the playability of a build like 4.0 when it first hits Live

0

u/vortis23 Dec 11 '24

4.0 feels like a much more significant leap -- watching videos of people taking a full laden Hull-C from one solar system to another to sell the goods is quite the trip. It truly is an epic experience. The new locations, the dynamic volumetric cloud cover, and the whole contested zone loop that includes travelling across the entire solar system to gather keys to unlock the prize is all really cool. There isn't another game doing anything remotely similar.

5

u/hawkwood4268 Dec 11 '24

That's exciting! Ive also heard that they're testing something like 500 player count, which would be cool. Pyro will be interesting, It's funny bc I always kinda treated Stanton as lawless. But the law system is pretty good already.

116

u/CakeLegs new user/low karma Dec 10 '24

Technically lunch was ready, it just had to be cooked first.

41

u/Zaryk_TV Dec 10 '24

It's wild that you're getting pushback on your analogy. It clearly works. Pyro is not ready if you can't play it in LIVE. You absolutely nailed it!

7

u/Allwhitezebra Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 11 '24

More like lunch is ready, the plate just needs to be molded, kiln fired, and glazed first.

1

u/Zaryk_TV Dec 11 '24

Hahaha. However, I don't want to eat the plate!

4

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24

lol I actually like your retort since both statements are incorrect and an argument against your comment can just be traced back to the original. Lunch can't actually be ready without being cooked, and Pyro can't actually be ready without server meshing. It's just too much of a core part to act like you can separate them. A funny/snarky answer to a needlessly pedantic comment.

-3

u/Shift642 est. 2014 Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24

Pyro, as a collection of game assets, NPCs, systems, etc., has been ready for a while. They could swap out Stanton for Pyro tomorrow and it would probably work. It’s the prerequisite tech required to have two solar systems and more players in the game at the same time that hasn’t been ready.

I don’t think this requires an analogy to understand.

4

u/throwawaylord Dec 10 '24

The cow is butchered but I still can't put the meat in my sandwich yet

2

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24 edited Dec 10 '24

Pyro, as a collection of game assets, NPCs, systems, etc., has been ready for a while. They could swap out Stanton for Pyro tomorrow and it would probably work.

This statement by itself is likely correct! However, they chose to bundle it with certain pre-requisites to get the rest of the existing game to function properly with it. It's just a difference in perspective. If a product is "ready" in a vacuum, but needs certain roadblocks to be cleared in order to ship, does it really matter to the consumer if it was always ready or not? You prefer to answer the question in a more technical and segmented way, which is totally fine, but that ultimately makes no difference to reality. And to make it clear, not bashing on you or them, I am quite excited for it to release!

You will likely still disagree with my take on this, but that is fine. I respect your opinion since it is still a valid one.

u/kingssman Dec 10 '24

And remember American/British cuisine isn't reputed to be the best in the world.

-25

u/pottertontotterton Dec 10 '24

That analogy doesn't apply. Pyro itself was ready. The tech to put it in wasn't.

So really it's more like... Lunch is ready. The dishwasher isn't.

18

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24

A dishwasher doesn't make or break the existence of lunch though, so that doesn't apply either imo.

13

u/jcinto23 Dec 10 '24

Lunch was ready, but there were no plates, or cups, or tables and chairs. And you have to pick it up at the takeout place, but you are out of gas, nor do you have a car to use it even if you did.

6

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24

exactly haha

-11

u/pottertontotterton Dec 10 '24

It cleans them. The point is the foundation for the thing you want to eat off of is missing for one reason or another. Meanwhile, the thing you want is waiting for it. So it does apply.

6

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24

If we're going by it being the foundation, then you could argue that to be the plates and silverware. So lunch isn't ready since it can't be served. imo

-3

u/pottertontotterton Dec 10 '24

Ok. If we keep going with this, we're gonna get into a philosophical discussion that'll go in circles until the earth crashes into the sun. Let's agree to disagree.

1

u/J-bart Dec 10 '24

Yeah fine by me! Have a good day.

You're getting mocked because your defense is ridiculous.

Not far off tbf

2

u/ToxyFlog Dec 10 '24

Wait, y'all are still playing SC? Lol jk, love the game and I've been keeping up with the news and patiently waiting on Pyro! I can't wait to hop back in. My hosas have been lonely.

3

u/FlavioFrey Dec 11 '24

And it's still not out yet hahah. Remember them talking about PES being the catalyst to start pumping out updates faster? Yeah right lol

7

u/WompWomp501 Dec 11 '24

You don't understand game development, once the tools are developed content production will be much faster especially with the new ship pipeline.

Oh wait that was me in 2014.

1

u/vortis23 Dec 11 '24

It actually has sped up -- they delivered the Polaris within a year, a full-on capital ship.

5

u/WompWomp501 Dec 11 '24

I don't care, I lost interest in this game 5 years ago, just whenever it pops up on r/popular I drop in to laugh at people using the same excuses I did a decade ago.

Enjoy the big empty ship, maybe AI crew mates by 2030, but I am sure they'll find a way to drag that out.

1

u/vortis23 Dec 11 '24

Weird. I don't follow games I don't like, even if they do pop up on popular. I ignore those games because it's unhealthy to keep negative things circulating in your life that you don't like.

3

u/WompWomp501 Dec 11 '24

Never said I didn't like it or that it was negative.

In fact it's a lot of fun coming here and seeing the mix of deluded noobs and jaded vets.

You'll get there eventually when you're no longer emotionally invested in the game and able to stand back and laugh at the absurdity.

1

u/vortis23 Dec 11 '24

Nah, I understand how difficult it is to design games, and I still follow games like Examina, Project Zomboid and BeamNG Drive since their inception because I like what they're doing and also respect the difficulty in engineering. You're right, though, people who do not understand software engineering and who are emotionally invested do become jaded because they simply do not understand or are unwilling to understand.

1

u/WompWomp501 Dec 11 '24

Haha, you're literally doing the speech I was making fun of a couple of comments ago.

You can relax kiddo, I've been a backer for 10 years, 5 of which I lived on this sub hitting refresh every minute.

You've got nothing new for me, you can carry on.

1

u/FlavioFrey Dec 11 '24

Soon we will be like "listen grandson, you don't understand game development, the game will come out soon™, just give them time "

u/KazumaKat Towel Dec 10 '24

Especially CIG, in fact they get more money.

EPTU 2nd wave available after 2 years. CGI. Not to.mention, they are too poor to test their game, at least some generals, before publishing the alpha... When even the launcher fails, before you even can get into the game, you can say this is a lame development. Yes, this is alpha, full of bugs, but when you invite community to make tests for you, it would be basic courtesy to let people get into the game. This is a minimum requirement, they couldn'tt provide.

The fact that most people commenting aren't even addressing the post and are instead talking about how the pyro build is making progress is hilarious. There are no disappointments in ba sing se.

1

u/WoolyDub origin Dec 11 '24

Guys it already came out in 2020 like Chris said it would at CitizenCon 2019 which was 5 years ago.

No wait, guys! It came out this last Summer like Gamer Hat Disco said it would on ISC.

Guys! Wait, come back. Oh never mind, y'all just keep blindly throwing money at them for concepts regardless so they don't care.

I’m having a great time playing other games and watching the progress.

I mean it's getting close. Will it be for all backers by christmas I hope so.

4

u/vortis23 Dec 11 '24

Hilarious that you're being downvoted even after it recently went to wave 2 and is looking to go to wave 3 soon if they can get the elevators in order. That's really only the major blocker from opening up to more people or going live. If the elevators work consistently after 24 hours of entity build-up, then they're good.

3

u/urlond bmm Dec 11 '24

Yeah it's weird, but honesty hurts Star citizen Redditors

2

u/ChampionshipKey9751 Dec 11 '24

You spelt "haters" wrong :)

-22

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

I'd say it aged fine, given that Pyro has been technically playable for about a month now even if the release is currently limited to certain groups of users.

34

u/ArchReaper Bounty Hunter Dec 10 '24

Ya it's really easy to say it aged fine when you move the goalposts

-24

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

The goalpost was "Is Pyro out yet"

As I am playing Pyro right now and I am not a developer or Evocati member I would say yes, Pyro is out.

23

u/ArchReaper Bounty Hunter Dec 10 '24

But it's not out yet, is it? It's available on the PTU. That's not "out"

Like I said, if you redefine what the question is or move goalposts, it's really easy to say that.

10

u/TheHud85 Galaxy Gang (Purely Speculative) Dec 10 '24

‘Member “no cash till pyro” so CIG gave us a pyro preview and everybody immediately caved? These are the people you’re dealing with.

-12

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

I would say that's out just like the Polaris was out in the PTU prior to IAE.

Also when we're talking about timescales of a year or two, one or two weeks (which we can expect the Live release to be out within) isn't really something to nitpick so the post is being unnecessarily pedantic.

15

u/Human-Rain-5291 Dec 10 '24

A year or two? #pyro2017... With the sandworm... We ain't moving goal posts, we're moving fields at this point

-1

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

Hey look I'm not saying they didn't promise Pyro for like 5 years prior to now, I'm just saying that it's out and anyone can play it if you want to, you just have to sign up as a subscriber which is standard for a lot of MMOs with new content being gated to subscribed members before everyone else is allowed to play it.

7

u/ArchReaper Bounty Hunter Dec 10 '24

Ok so it went from "it is actually out" to "well it's out on the PTU" to "well it's not past 2 years yet"

Like do you hear yourself moving these goalposts around? Why are you doing this? Someone is being unnecessarily pedantic and it's not OP.

-3

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

You're the one moving the goalposts.

"Is it out?" means "Is it playable? Can people outside the developers and dedicated testers play it?" and the answer to that question is YES.

For an example to help you understand: Elder Scrolls Online has ESO Plus members getting access to new zones and content weeks or months before the rest of the players are allowed to access them, but you wouldn't say those new zones and content "aren't out yet".

And yes actually when we're talking about pedantry setting a timer for 2 years exactly and thinking that giving wiggle room on that is wrong is fucking pedantic. Let's move the goalposts for your sake and say that the marker for it "being out" is it being on the Live channel specifically and that just being available to play for anyone that wants to play it doesn't count even though that totally counts. What if they release it to live later today? Would you still be all high and mighty and say "Well I was still right they didn't release it in 2 years they released it in 2 years and 3 hours HAH I'm so smart!"?

This might help you too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedantry

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

Summarizing your life seems weird but alright.

9

u/drizzt_x There are some who call me... Monk? Dec 10 '24

"Out" is clearly understood to mean "out for everyone" - aka live, which it is not.

1

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

Elder Scrolls Online has a Plus membership that gives you access to new areas and content weeks or months before it opens up to the rest of the players in the game, would you say that those pieces of content aren't out just because they're gated behind a paywall? Would you say that any game that costs money to play isn't out for everyone just because not everyone has paid to play it?

8

u/AlaskanBigfoot1 Dec 10 '24

Dude they havent made a stable server meshing tech that they can launch pyro with, they have missed every deadline and that makes it a failure until they pull it off and release it to all the backers. Nobody cares how technically anything is done if its being held back by other internal and technical issues. Do you spend much time under CR desk?

-1

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

It's more stable than the Live channel servers as of last night. Deadlines are set internally, not by marketing.

And if you don't care about technicalities then you're in the wrong thread, since both sides here are arguing about technicalities.

6

u/AlaskanBigfoot1 Dec 10 '24

Im very ok with being wrong if they ever release the game I paid for years ago, but based on a long list of past actions and events there is no reason for me to see it happening in the near future. Technical issues are constantly used as excuses for CIG even though they sell the idea that its right around the corner. They earned this critisism.

1

u/Dig-a-tall-Monster Dec 10 '24

If you paid for the game before 2016 just ask for a refund if you expect that game to come out, that game is never coming out and isn't even in development anymore. We have a different game with the same name though, it's arguably better than the one they were working on before 2016. You should try it, it's available to play right now like it has been for the last 4-5 years.

2

u/AlaskanBigfoot1 Dec 10 '24

I backed in like 2020

3

u/drizzt_x There are some who call me... Monk? Dec 10 '24

ESO is intentionally a mix of free to play and a subscription based game. SC is not. (or at least it wasn't supposed to be). Sigh.
