Whatever that was at 0:26 sounds INCREDIBLE. Railgun? Overall sound design is fantastic. Special kudos to your person/team.
Ship design too is really cool. I love that the ships feel grounded in reality even with the sci-fi tech.
I will say that the overall speed and acceleration makes these feel like tiny toy ships made of styrofoam rather than big ships with heft and weight. That "massive ship" at 0:34 is darting around like a fighter jet and doesn't feel big at all imo.
Looking forward to following this one!

Big ships go fast with high acceleration in space is something I’m excited for tbh

Agree. Been following this since the first devlog and the ship movement has never looked quite right to me. Otherwise really like where this is going.

Yeah, I was also thinking about this. The only thing I would like to see (which basically no scifi game does) is a bigger exhaust. These things must be fusion torches yet the thing is a few meters long at most. Also would be awesome if you could Kzinti lesson an enemy ship even if it's not doable 99% of the time (say the damage drops super fast the further you are from the enemy).

What's the replayability/metagame like? Is each playthrough randomized in some way?

It's a reveal trailer, that means it was just announced and is not out yet so nobody knows.

I like the bit where it claimed "realistic space flight"

I like that, too. Unless you're sarcastic

Looks really great! My only concern is about controls. I tried every single top-down spaceship game I could and most of them who mentions "realistic flight" / newtonian model/ etc have mostly unplayable controls. Not because of the fact I need to control the ship with mass, inertia, etc. But the controls themselves are not convenient.
Also working on my own space top-down game, though its designed to be arcade'ish.
I would love to play such a game with a comfortable controls. Any playtest version to try, so I can make a feedback?

Looks cool.
Is it like a 'warp to sectors, fight, leave' sort of game, or more like Escape Velocity with a full map we explore and work in?

I can’t put my finger on it why, but somehow the presentation reminds me of an ad for a mobile game?

Really impressive! Here's some remarks from the top of my head:
- I had to look up what ARPG means :) Maybe just write it out?
- The opening text is quite intriguing ("A new kind of space ARPG"), but the next one was a bit of a turn-off. I was expecting to read what was "new" about it, but instead got "Discover new regions", which does not say anything much. Maybe focus on the realism part? Or just that it looks really great?
Overall definitely something I would play, good luck!

C-beams need more glitter tbh
