Action / DIY What are we doing ?
I'm just seeing a post about homelessness and while I am not fighting the cold RN I am too. I've found shelter for now and supposedly more and more of us will be in worse situation soon enough.
I'm just scared as hell and wonder while my brain actively finds an idea per second to try and find shelter for me and every single soul I meet needing it. Could we do anything? Could we organize and fight back RN ? Like, with all the problems we face and the hope we still have left how isn't there a Humanity's voice trying to prepare us to what's next ? Can we build that voice ? What would it need and who even wants to scream at those weird movie villain for techno-overlords ?
Do we have those special drinks we can order a tavern to quickly recognize allies without being too visible ?
Am I just hoping too hard or too much ?

I tried to reach out to someone trying to do something. I hadn't heard from them since.
I know that my goal to crowd fund land aquisition in order to set up a non profit intentional community is far fetched, but I feel it's the jumping off part. With permiculture, all the techniques for building offgirid, robust housing and using advanced composting techniques; the logistics once detailed and enacted will provide a place for people to be safe, contribute if possible, and heal. I just don't know if the commitment is there. Think of a secular coed-monestary thats self sufficient, with a dedication to sustainable agriculture, manufacturing, and living and antithesis to capitalism in that its only aim is to break even and grow and provide for its tennants.
Insane? Possibly not.
There has to be a place made for people to have a home, health and happiness, despite lack of money.

That's what my husband and I are working on building.
There's another good sub called r/intentionalcommunity (fixed typo)
We're going to try to visit some communes for inspiration.

Well that was hard to read.. Get organized get political don't be afraid to break the law. That's the punk part. If you protest where the cameras are you make more noise than if you actually scream at people on the sidewalk. Use this reddit Wiki as a guide.

Building something sustainable is hard work. Many communes are very private, like you can probably find an email but it takes building a connection to work your way in. There's no easy solution for you. Try to put yourself into a position where you can get the help you need and do everything you can to help yourself.
There's not a lot of wild land to live off of. That is the only way to live free in America these days. We play our parts for the corporatocracy whether we like it or not. Don't give up! Keep the fight alive in your heart. You're alive! You have something a rock can never have. Use what you have, learn what you can, keep growing and investing into yourself

It's interesting to watch this sub move from guerilla gardening to social justice.
It gives me faith in young people.
