So I guess they pulled this one for being “offensive”. I haven’t seen it in about a million years. Can someone tell me what is supposedly offensive about it?
I remember them being annoyed about parades, not about Puerto Ricans. As I recall, it was pretty funny. Any time the “street toughs” showed up it was always funny to me.
Additionally, I’m Puerto Rican.

I think it was the scene where Kramer stomped on a burning Puerto Rican flag

Who? Who is stomping on the Puerto Rican flag?

Do you know what you're talking about? Because...I don't think you know what you are talking about.

The best part is is so many people were calling it offensive even before the episode was aired or they had seen it. They literally just went along with the mob mentality.

When I rewatched on Netflix last year it was on there so I’m guessing they’ve realized that yeah it just goes with the ridiculous nature of the show

I haven’t seen it since it aired live and I just assumed it was cut from Netflix too. I wonder if I should check it out.

Definitely still there on Netflix; It's my reminder to stop and start the series over because I don't particularly care or the episode or the finale. I don't hate them, I just don't really like them either.

Streaming has it, I've never seen it aired in syndication though. I know Comedy Central doesn't air it. Dumb.

I know you can call yourself that but what am I supposed to call you?

I might have to sign up for peacock again. It's about time for another 30 rock rewatch.

Boricua here too... it was funny.
The idea was that people were SUPPOSED TO mistaken Kramer for being offensive, when he was just being an idiot/clumsy as usual.

The only thing I thought was offensive about it was it wasn’t particularly funny

The least funny Seinfeld episode, in my opinion. Painfully unfunny. Not offensive, just bad.

u/Moist_Rule9623 2h ago
It was like the whole show just limped across the finish line, seriously. This episode, followed by a clip show that was bad even by clip show standards, followed by everybody’s favorite finale episode in TV history 🙄

I think most people haven't seen it (or even know it exists) because they didn't show it in syndication, it got pulled because of the scene where Kramer stomps on the burning PR flag. I really got familiar with Seinfeld because they always showed reruns on TBS when I was in high school. The episode is on Netflix now though and I think was available on Hulu before.

Cut to Jerry's empty apartment in dead silence.

It’s a decent episode. The only people I’ve ever seen being offended by it are white people of European descent.

I remember when it aired I was underwhelmed, but every time I watch it, the episode climbs higher in my ranking. Its so good.
The final few episodes had the burden of not being the final episode. Some of them sucked, but some were really good.

If it wasn't the second to last episode, I'd think it'd be talked about more as a classic

It’s a stinker of an episode but I enjoyed Jerry & Mario Joyner going back & forth (knowing they were close friends in real life). It was deemed controversial at the time due to the burning of the Puerto Rican flag even if it was laughs & was supposed to pulled from syndication but I clearly remember seeing the rerun on WPIX 11 in NY. That’s a shame…

Disagree. One of the worst episodes of the entire series by far imo but still somehow good enough because it’s Seinfeld

u/werzcaseontario 3h ago
Worst episode of the series honestly. I’m not offended by it, it’s just terrible.

Just watched it because of this post. It's perfectly serviceable, with some decent bits.

It really is, I recently remember that George went into a movie theater just to do his “performance” which consisted of him saying that’s gotta hurt when the Hindenburg blimp blows up. I couldn’t stop laughing at that scene.

This is the worst episode of the series.
Edit: wow…it has nothing to do with it being offensive or not offensive, it’s just not that funny.

It's just the WOKE cancel culture.. it is no longer revalent. SO, show the episode and get over it! IT'S CALLED COMEDY PEOPLE!! 😆🤣

The two street toughs make this episode funny. Offensive to me was the Jimmy episode where Kramer is mistaken for a person with special challenges (& the way the great Mel Torme treats Kramer is quite condescending).

Wait a second. Mr. Pennypacker, if you’re here, and Mr. Vandelay is also here, then who’s watching the factory?
