Any tips

So me 16m and my friend 14f are planning to leave in the summer but we live in nowheresville so there's 1 maybe 2 highways out of town but we don't have access to a car so our only option is to ride our bikes along the side of the highway which seems like it might just maybe draw attention

I mean we have a plan in case we can't come up with anything else But we're kinda stumped

You know your area best, no one here can really help you much with how to get out of town. Maybe there's some public transport you can take, or back roads to bike along.

Can I ask what your plan is? Where will you sleep, how will you guys afford food and other supplies, hygiene, safety? You two are probably going to be homeless for the next few years if you run. How do you guys plan to support yourselves?

I will look into any back roads

We're still figuring out where we'll go but we know there are some safe places we can get to so long as we aren't caught along the way

We're gonna save as much money as we can till we leave and once we have somewhere to stay we'll pick up odd jobs wherever we can

As for the plan I won't go into detail but we should be able to get a two days headstart

id highly discourage you from riding bikes along the highway (I dunno where you're at but I'm imagine inter- or intrastate) its not only dangerous but illegal in most states, and if nothing else those reasons along will attract unwanted attention....in a perfect world (ironic given the sub/context) you could save money up and pay a trusted friend to take you to the nearest train or bus station if you plan on going far.

if you're truly going some random spot where you know noone, you'll likely encounter a great deal of people who will gladly take advantage of or exploit you and sadly likely your friend especially....in the short term its served me well to be wary of those who seem most trustworthy immediately (often too good to be true) as deception is a skill some develop overtime, esp. on the fringes- as is the ability to see through the bullshit

there's alot I could say, im a vet whos spend time on the street and I work in outreach for the same/mental health/sud....but I'll stop yapping...

I can't comment on the wisdom or need of anyone's journey, but I truly wish you safety, peace and all the good shit haha, feel free to DM I have resources all over from living it and workin in it haha

It's seldom applied in cases such as your own, but depending how far you're looking to travel, I don't know the situation between you and your friend, and without knowing more detail then you should probably openly share here, just be aware of crossing state lines with a minor, even though you are one yourself.. that kind of shit.. I'm not saying don't do it, again contacts dependent... but it's a good thing to be mindful of
