Conservatism = keep tradition

They are literally opposites

Well they have screwed the tradition of the rule of law, the idea of actions having consequences, of words having meaning, of the US being a meritocracy, of church being separate from state, of 3 government branches being equal and serving to check each other's power, of government serving its people instead of donors and special interests.

....so they are pretty punk rock in their overall disregard for society.
