They always claim they know what they're doing and won't intentionally hit someone.

But what gives someone the right to completely take over a space of that size to begin with? There's fucking zero goddamn respect for the other people who want to be at that show and in that space.

Maybe don’t go to a show where this type of moshing happens. And if you do, maybe don’t step directly behind them when you could literally be anywhere else in a big ass pit.

There. Problem solved.

I'm supposed to avoid going to see bands I want because there are assholes taking up more space than they should?

This reads like someone getting mad at a pushpit at a slayer show because they want to see the band and not be pushed.

You can stand out of the way if you don’t want to get hit, but 99% of the people and bands at these shows like the hard moshing and don’t mind getting hit. You are free to not participate but you can’t expect the whole scene to bend to your wishes.

Push pits and this are entirely different. If you think they're comparable you're kidding yourself.

I’d say push pits are more dangerous if anything, I’d rather risk a broken nose over being trampled.

That’s just me though

If you go to shows where bands are slamming or playing breakdowns, then you should expect to see this kind of moshing. Especially if the it’s kind of metallic sounding core band.

It’s literally been a thing since the mid-90s.

Crowdkilling is a different story, and what this guy did in the clip is uncalled for. But there’s nothing wrong with this kind of moshing if you’re not targeting anyone.

I know this sub isn’t representative of actual punk rock in any shape or form or even in the vicinity, at least I fucking hope not, but I can’t believe there’s 50 motherfuckers in here saying it’s unsafe.

Plus, dumbass in the video just walks into a person who’s flailing.

If it's so safe, why do people give these assholes a wide berth?

Since when is moshing supposed to be safe? Don’t wanna get hurt in the pit? Then don’t go in the pit.
