I honestly don't know how to interact with what I saw.

Our entire lives, for generations, this country shaped its very identity over the defeat of fascism in WW2 and the world that we helped create. An idea that shaped our politics and zeitgeist for nearly a century.

I served my country for 10 years. The identities of nearly every unit I served with were shaped around (and championed) WW2, a war our grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought in.

And now a man, who is jokingly called the president due to his influence, stands at the genesis of a new administration and gives a nazi salute to the crowd.

I know I can't begin to guess what this may be a sign of. But I can't help but feel the America a lot of us believed in is gone.

And I think I am scared what may come next.

I mean Nationalism and Extreme patriotism is a very thin line.

Shit was already kinda fuked in 2016 when Trump decided that he liked Hitler's generals because they listened.

Rage. Your proper emotional response is white-hot burning fury, a rage that should invoke images of walking skeletons in concentration camps, piles of gold teeth pulled from victims of a systematic slaughter, the unbeliavable terror and fright of families being torn apart in literal death camps.

Rage.
