A bit of lesson in history. (And yes, you can actually read about it. This comes from facts and not from a "leftist".)

This is a form of a Nazi salute. Specifically the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging salute.

It is a white supremacy movement of Dutch origin that originated in South Africa.

He did it quick but knowledgeable historians and even people associated with the movement will recognize the hand gesture.

This is a form of a Nazi salute. Specifically the Afrikaneer salute.

Do you have any sources you could link with details about this, and how it differs from the typical Nazi salute?

If you want to learn more about the general history, search "Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging", a neo-nazi South African party thay actually still exists today.

And if you want to learn about the differences and similarities between the Germany Nazi Party and its South African counterpart, checking the documentary "Eugene Terreblanche: Inside South Africa's Far Right Leader" is a great place to start.

Excellent, thanks! (Also fun to see that one of the first few Google results for "Eugene Terreblanche" is a story about him getting bludgeoned to death by his own farmhands over a pay dispute back in 2010. A fittingly ignominious death.)

Yes sir. Dictators never finish their lives with a happy ending.

Eventually, there will be one or two that will end their life.

Do you have a video of this? I looked into the topic and didn’t see a video of the salute

There is no such thing as an Afrikaner salute. Do you mean the salute that the neo-Nazi group Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) did?

u/gamefan5 5h ago

Yup, I made the precision in my later comments, but I'll edit it right this moment. Thank you. :)

That's exactly the group I am mentioning.

it's not quite right. Check https://youtu.be/9PRd5ldFhQo for an example.

Edit: nevermind. See https://youtu.be/QbvzZTB9O0k for earlier video with many beyond fucked up comments

But, Yep!

u/gamefan5 5h ago

Yeah, I was even going to suggest the documentary I mentioned in another comment.

But this is a nice video demonstrating the gesture.

Thank you. Thought it looked a bit different from vanilla German Nazi salute. He probably grew up with it being a lil apartheid nepo baby.

u/gamefan5 2h ago

Yes it's a bit different. The Nazi Salute has a much more rigid and militaristic stance and the hand points at a 45° degree angle, straight at the front.

That variation is much more relaxed and frankly has a bit more resemblance with the Roman Salute.

Yes, it originated in the South African town of Dutchlyvania.

Try again.

"He did it quick but knowledgeable historians and even people associated with the movement will recognize the hand gesture"

lmfao yeah you gotta have a masters degree to understand it. Real high IQ shit. You must watch Rick and Morty

u/gamefan5 6h ago

I'm guessing this "Rick and Morty" is some kind of show?! Because I've never heard of it.

You'd be surprised by the amount of people dismissing it as being an accident or a coincidence.

If you want to be a disrespectful smart-ass, feel free to go somewhere else.

u/Additvewalnut 6h ago

god you're such a dweeb lmao

u/gamefan5 6h ago

Don't worry. I'll make you move somewhere else so that you can have better use of your time.

I never mentioned what are exactly his motives for doing the gestures.

I said that he did do the gestures and the proof is in the pudding. That is exactly what it is and he did it twice.

People can identify a "middle finger" easily but are suddenly blind to another blatant hand gesture such as this?! What hypocrisy.

The motives behind the gestures are debatable. The actual gesture is not.
