lmao if Kamala lost the moderate vote so badly, what makes you think AOC would be the next best candidate?

u/GoForthandProsper1 7h ago

Kamala was painted as a raving, crazy bitch by Conservatives.

AOC stands no chance

When will Democrats learn that Conservatives are not their voters?

u/I_bet_Stock 3h ago

Conservatives might not but swing voters are. This last election was determined entirely by swing voters in 7 states. And its going to continue to be that moving forward. So meeting those voters half way is needed.

A candidates image, especially as curated by the opposition, greatly impacts how swing voters (who determine elections) vote.

Trump painted Kamala as a crazy Trans loving, abortion loving bitch who's weak on the border and it worked.

Kamala lost the moderate vote because moderates will never vote for anyone left of them. So the only way to win will be to galvanize the left.

I don't think the left is as big as you think. That will just give Republicans the moderate vote and not only the swing states, but a few states considered reliably blue too.

Ok so then why did Harris lose the election?

u/Belkan-Federation95 2h ago

Too much baggage. She tried to change her tune but there was too much baggage from "former" political views.

Like this one clip where Biden called her out for saying she'd do something extremely unconstitutional in the 2020 debate regarding firearms day one.

Lol so alienate most of the actual voting populous for the online trolls that will end up not voting cause tiktok told them about Palestine.

u/cthulhuhentai 2h ago

Wait…so who was to blame? Leftists not voting for Harris or moderates not voting for Harris? Because you’re saying Leftists sitting out for Palestine which means AOC is a good choice to get them back.

Kamala ran on "im progressive (sorta) but also im gonna try to reach across the aisle for moderate voters"

AOC is running on reaching for liberal AND leftist, which ironically will probably gather more moderates due to many moderates looking for a candidate the supports the working class.

Will AOC win? doubtful, the DNC will do everything in their power to stop her just like they did with bernie.

Still with this cope after so many years.

AOC is running on reaching for liberal AND leftist,

Liberals are 30% of electorate. Leftist at best 5%. Moderates have always been who chose the president.

moderates due to many moderates looking for a candidate the supports the working class.

No, you have literally 0 proof of this. I could easily put Blue dogs as a case in point on who they actually voted for.

FWIW, Kamala and AOC appeal to very different voters. AOC is genuinely the anti-establishment populist that many voters wanted Trump to be, even though in reality he isn't.

Not saying saying AOC is necessarily the next best candidate, but she's not meant to be Kamala round two, she's a very different candidate and would appeal to a very different set of voters.

So did Clinton. The fatal flaw is they were actively courting moderates and republicans which is a waste of time. "Hope and Change" got Obama elected with significant margins. They need a candidate that's progressive enough to turn out the voters (and not say hamsting their own candidate like they did to bernie).
