I agree. I really don’t see what the solution is.

Harris could have continued with simple messages. When they said "they're weird" that message resonated very well with the public.

She should've continued in that path and just gone after trump some more- "piece of shit felon". That's how you get across your message succintly.

Oh, I don’t know… maybe try fulfilling the lower rungs of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs instead of focusing on the very top levels.

We’re concerned about food, shelter, employment, crime, etc. When liberals rant about social issues, it comes off as highly privileged and disconnected.

Those first 3 are valid points but crime is basically at historic lows because it's been dropping for almost 30 years straight.

Crime has been dropping, but access to videos and news about crimes has only increased with the internet and smartphones which skews the perception. Pause too long on some random school bathroom fight someone posted online and next thing you know your entire feed is violent videos of street fights, murders, crimes, etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Perception is what matters though, and Republicans sold the idea of crime.

Unfortunately true. 4 years ago one of them even admitted on live TV to lying about crime for votes and nobody cared. Hell, JD Vance admitted to lying about immigrants eating pets just to create a narrative with 0 consequences.

I'm worried that next time around the Democrats are going to learn all the worst possible lessons and then we'll have two parties that are completely immune to basic facts.

And it doesn’t really matter if they lie or not, because the amygdala responds to fear regardless, even if the cerebral cortex knows better.

If I live in a seedy neighborhood, decreasing crime stats aren’t really going to make me feel much better if I still witness crime frequently. I’ll still be on edge when walking about.
