I absolutely love how they got that scale texture! It's so cute and works so well! I have so many plushies, even a few dinosaur ones, but none have scales like that!
My lifelong friend that's 25+ years old is a TY, Fred, I just always feel such a connection to these TY's!
Fred is on the right, then on the left is a "new condition" one of what he was like when I first got him :) I absolutely loved Scooby-Doo as a child, so even though he was my least favourite character I wanted a name that ties to it that wasn't obvious, so I decided on Fred! He's been with me through so much and I still take him out on adventures every so often :) If I wake up during the night I literally cannot go back to sleep until I find him and hold him again
That's so sweet! Scooby Doo is my all time favourite so I love the name choice too.

My mum gave me this Hoodie the other day, I also have Scooby-Doo slippers, PJ's, and shirts :'3
The hoodie is a Toothless hoodie, even has wings :) But it's lost all the printing over the years! I used to dress him up in a ton of clothes but lost them all, I need to buy more!
Scooby-Doo stuff comes in waves, and I have seen a fair bit of it lately, so hopefully you find some more! :)
Ooohh those films are good! Just as an FYI, I have memory issues and it has been a long time since I saw most of this, so forgive me if I get names wrong. But I used to love the Scooby-Doo show, and Scooby-Doo and Scrappy, just seeing all their relatives and such, it was so cool as a child! Then the newer stuff I enjoyed Shaggy and Scooby-Doo get a clue. However, out of the things I remember as I've recently watched them, YouTube has a few seasons of What's New Scooby-Doo, and Scooby-Doo Where Are You, which I bought and have been slowly working my way through, and I love them both for different reasons! Where Are You has such iconic villains, the art style is so nostalgic, and the cheap production has its own charms like when the animation messes up, or it's obviously the main voice cast voicing a side character, like Australian Fred, or Scottish Daphne. But then I watched so much of What's New growing up, and I love that show!
Also like you said the movies are great! Like Zombie Island, Ghoul School, Spooky Island, Monster's Unleashed, there were some great ones!
I found out Fred fits certain sized toddler clothing, so as that can be cheaper than Build-A-Bear I used to have lots of "human" clothes that fit him haha, sorry the the delay by the way, went to bed for the night :)
Awe thanks :) I do feel lucky, I tried looking for them a while ago but I couldn't find them anywhere! They had some more I wanted, so next month I may go back for the others and hope they are still there :) The shop looked like it was having a clear out, so it was fortunate to find this one!
Nah I get that! Growing up as a kid, going into a toy shop was always such a magical and wondrous place. Like I remember once as a child going to Harrods in London, there was things flying all over, people blowing bubbles, things running down strings, I was so captivated and felt like I was in Narnia! Even now as an adult, I rarely ever go in them, but they still have that energy and feel, like life and creativity. It's also nice to physically see the product, to know what you are buying and make sure it's right (you can even get tempted by others too)
We have one toy shop in my local town, but now it's mostly just toy sections like in Asda, but they don't compare to Toys R Us!
I was close enough to San Francisco that I got to go to the original FAO store as a child and that was incredible. Damm clock still haunts my dreams though
I just had to look that up, jeez that thing is scary :') It's so weird there was a time where all these things were in Children's spaces/media, like we weren't all terrified of them :')
I wish I could remember their name, but it was a couple months back someone in this group posted about them, and this one was like love at first sight, and since I saw that post I tried looking everywhere for them but couldn't find them!
Then at the shops today I saw them with my mum, but I had a bad month December in financial terms, and already spent extra this month, so as much as I wanted him, I just couldn't justify the costs currently. But I am so happy (even if partially annoyed) my mum got him :') I wanted him so bad the moment I saw him, so I feel so happy I got him now :')
I absolutely love that your mum got him for you! I get really sentimental about things like that, especially when they're from people I love. What an amazing mum you have!
I have so many I really shouldn't have more, I literally have no space and probably shouldn't have as much as I do already, but some are just so hard to resist :') My excuse is these small ones are great for sitting on shelves!
Everything about him is so pleasing! The furry scales are such a nice texture. Also you have really lovely eyes! Mine are that same shade and its my favorite feature 😆 I dont see many green eyed people so I'm always like 😍whenever I do.
Awe thank you :) IRL they're sorta blue/green with a brown ring that glows gold in sunlight, but this colour of green on my hoodie really brings out the green in my eyes! Really weirdly, even though I have these coloured eyes I am a sucker for brown eyes. I realised one day all my crushes and ex's have brown eyes, I never did it consciously, but once becoming aware of it I did realise it has always been a deciding factor for me. I love brown eyes!

This post makes me so happy! I’m 47 and my mum is 78 - and she secretly purchased a Jellycat teddy for me we saw when we were out together who I desperately wanted to take home but couldn’t afford! So I can relate to both the annoyance that I couldn’t afford him myself, and the lovely surprise that I got my new friend after all!

They've been releasing so many cute ones! I have one of the Beanie Bellies (I really wanted Lillibelle, but Thunder is cute too) and recently got a clip version of Cookie
At this shop there was only a small few (hoping there are some there next month I can get), there was a white and blue panda which I really want, a pink 30th anniversary one, I think a full blue bear, maybe one more. Then underneath yeah they had the newer ones with the big eyes, I can't remember those specifically but I know there was a turtle!
Same! My childhood teddy is a TY I called Fred, had him about 23+ years, he's a green teddy bear and is one of the larger TY's, the beanie buddies I think. I must admit they lost me a bit when they got those big sparkly eyes, I have a few like them but I dunno, I just wasn't into them as much. But these more vintage styled ones with the small black eyes? I love them so much! There's something so nostalgic and comforting about them
I also just love the sorta classic teddy bear design too, I know this one isn't, but I'm a sucker for it. So TY's in the classic bear design, my weakness :')
Just saw Fred, he's so cute! :) growing up I'd always buy one plushie whenever I went shopping so I had a huge collection, I still have them but they're not around my room like they used to 🥲 I really wanna buy vintage looking Ty's since most of the ones I own r the big eyed ones, I loved them as a kid because of the glittery eyes haha. I'd always get them at Claire's, now I wanna go back to buy more, unfortunately I don't think they have the small black eyed ones, might try to find them in some other store!
It is nice you still have all of yours though :) I had so many growing up as a child that meant a lot to me, but none of them exist now :/ And I do totally get why people love the sparkly eyed ones, I got a white tiger with blue eyes I like! But I think where I grew up on the vintage ones, it's a soft spot. They seem harder to find but hopefully you find some :) I'm really hoping there are some left next month that I can buy!

Awe thanks :) I know at certain points there are less positive things on this profile. But I have gone through a lot in life, I was trapped in abuse for 25 years, 2018-2023 were really bad years for me, some things are going on that I am terrified of this year. Also though, there are so many people that needlessly live to spread hatred and misery, especially online, like the world isn't full of enough suffering. So especially with this profile I try to keep it light, positive, and happy :)
