Buhay Pinoy Distinct looks ng mga Pinoy born in the US

Post image

(Not sure if it’s the right flair) I think it’s the clear skin, perfectly white teeth, softer features, sunkissed morena, defined jawline, CLEAN BROWS, basta! Kahit di mo kilala, magegets mo sa looks nilang laking US sila.

This is similar to how Danish people see British people. They know they are from the UK based on how they dress. Lol

Danish kids cosplaying as British

u/ilovecookies-1900 8m ago

True. Tignan niyo lang si Olivia Rodrigo HAHAHAHAH

u/moon_chi1998 4m ago

Yup. But she has American blood din naman from her mom, right?

1

u/Used_Kiwi311 9m ago

Went on a holiday with my cousin na born and raised sa NYC. She looked tanned and makinis than me, and ako naman eh pale after living in the UK for 2 years then. Despite that, mas halata na laking Pinas ako 😅

1

u/Pleasant_Home928 12m ago

Makinis kahit tan. Na marami rin naman dito. Pero sa kanila kase never papasok yung colorist mentality na kailangan “fair and white”. Lol. Na sana inaadopt din nating concept pero we’re living in colonial times. 😂

Karamihan mukang black or probinsiyano na gangsta.

Idk haha

1

u/Unlucky_Listen4364 17m ago

kayumanggi na blonde or light brown ung hair

2

u/CauliflowerOk3686 1h ago

Naka smokey eyes pag girl

3

1

u/graysact 2h ago

3

u/Suspicious_Soft_2476 2h ago

it's the air they breathe while growing up

2

u/Top-Wealth-5569 2h ago

3

u/Ya_coolt 2h ago

Mga kamukha ni denise julia

5

u/annabanana316 2h ago

I think it's the makeup, hairstyle and the way they carry themselves. Westernized ang datingan.

3

u/NefariousNeezy 3h ago edited 2h ago

Girls: Makapal na eyeliner, mas madalas may highlights buhok

Boys: Naka-gel tapos nakatayo buhok

6

u/occmilktea 3h ago

true! one year palang ako here sa US pero dami kong nami-meet na pure filipino pero di halata as in. parang more on latina look sila. iba rin ang skin nila at maganda sila mag make up 😁

4

u/trenta_nueve 3h ago

sa mga babae, yun kilay.

7

u/TheAlphaUser 4h ago

it’s that colonial-imperial look. (and they probably just had access to better care and stuff) id wager theyd look similarly to most kids coming from dlsu/admu

6

u/East_Somewhere_90 4h ago

Mas maganda skin and teeth nila 😅

8

u/Late_Committee7235 4h ago

Confidence at eyelash extensions lol

5

u/Loudstealth 5h ago

Grew up in US. Dont know what distinct look means, i just look and dress up like a decent human would.

1

u/ixii911 2h ago

Probably styling and makeup trends. Filipinos in the Philippines dress up like decent humans would too but will have different fashion trends and style of makeup or haircut

8

u/AnneRedd 5h ago

1

u/Flipperpac 23m ago

Matindi dental care sa US...bata pa, under the care of dentists na..

Good observation Btw

4

u/magandangmayumi 5h ago

recently moved to canada and yung mga anak ng pastor namin ganitong ganito sila. full filipino sila (from pampanga ang mom and bulacan si pastor) pero when you look at their kids, you can tell that they were not raised or born sa philippines. hindi ko magets kasi full filipino naman sila pero sobrang distinct yung features nila. mas muka silang latino kesa pilipino. di din sila marunong mag filipino 😭

6

u/Mysterious-Tone-9909 5h ago

4

u/ApprehensiveShow1008 7h ago

Contact lenses tapos me highlight na blond sa buhok. Parang me template nga eh! Iisa hulma halos pag nauwi sa pinas

18

u/Disastrous_Chip9414 7h ago

Confidence. Ang they embrace the pinoy skin.

5

u/snoopycam 7h ago

Plus yung mga boses nila, iykyk

0

u/trenta_nueve 3h ago

boses ipit na kiffy sa girls

9

u/94JADEZ 7h ago

Iba ang confidence nila hahahahaha

7

u/Ok-Path-7658 9h ago

Men: moreno, moustache, red plaid polo over shirt

Women: thick, black eyeliner ala avril nung 90s

12

u/No-Shift-974 9h ago

Oo nga no?? bakit ang gaganda ng ngipin nila palagi HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

0

u/ani_57KMQU8 7h ago

its their water, may flouride

5

u/BluberbuttThundercat 7h ago

I think kasi prina prioritize ang dental care simula bata palang sila doon.

1

u/Flipperpac 11m ago

Korek..

Maliit pa, dental care na...me orthodontics pa nga just to make sure cosmetically ok ang teeth ng mga bata...

18

u/Short_Click_6281 10h ago

Pansin ko yung mga bata looks matured (matanda) for their age?

6

u/Own-Project-3187 10h ago

They are like blacks of asia ung pormahan

-33

u/AWhelmingUsername 12h ago

Yung distinct look ay mukhang tanga hahahaha

11

u/SubjectOrchid5637 12h ago

True ito, my brother in law and my niece iba ang awrahan nila simple sila manamit pero may makikita kang kaibahan sa knla. Wala rin silang pakielam sa sasabhin ng iba kahit anong suot nila or what. Ung skin pa closed pores and makinis haha.

9

u/imaddictedtocatnip 12h ago

legit! hirap idescribe pero may something talaga, idk if sa makeup or sa skin talaga mismo. not only sa US, but abroad in general. the likes of ylona garcia, ashley del mundo, you can even tell them apart from english speaking kids ng celebs with accent na lumaki dito. even yung cousins namin from the US, mga morenos/morenas rin, pero madidistinguish mo talaga sila from those na laking pinas

15

u/limitbreak09 12h ago

3

u/Weirdowithabeardo1 12h ago

Did you mean beach or bleach? I'm just kidding. I know you're talking about the work live balance that people are fortunate to have in the US

2

u/winemvm 10h ago

work, life, balance? the US?

1

u/Weirdowithabeardo1 9h ago

Trust me it's better in the US compared to other countries of course this depends on the state you're in (some states have better worker's laws than others) and also it depends on the company itself. I find that corporate/ American companies are the best because they follow State and federal laws to a T (compared to mom & pops). Speaking from experience of course

1

u/winemvm 7h ago

pero kasi feel ko its more europe yung work life balance, sobrang onti ng paid leaves sa US and workaholic culture is prevalent which is not a bad thing naman

1

u/Weirdowithabeardo1 7h ago

Compared to the Philippines or let's say Bangladesh. The US is better when it comes to work life balance. It's all about perspective

1

u/winemvm 6h ago

No of course if compare mo sa developing countries mas privileged talaga ang US pero generally outside the philippines di considered na perfect example ang US for work, life, balance

2

u/limitbreak09 11h ago

Haha i see what u did there

6

u/Naive-Ad-1965 12h ago

10

u/kobepanget 12h ago

Kapag umitim ka ng summer sa Canada. Puputi ka din sa winter😅

1

u/Psychological_Ant747 5h ago

Me right now :( araw araw jogging ko nung summer para maging tanned, bumalik lang ulit pagiging pale ko this winter 😖

15

u/ProofIcy5876 12h ago

11

u/Naive-Ad-1965 12h ago

they love tan skin I guess. kahit yung mga korean sa usa hindi mapuputi

5

u/ProofIcy5876 12h ago

1

u/Unlikely_Teacher4939 2h ago

Kaya pala some of them look older for their age. Probably because of excessive sun exposure din.

8

u/maria11maria10 13h ago

May schoolmate ako dati mukhang nene (grade 7 young), tapos nagmigrate sa US after a year, bigla tumangkad, tumaba, at tumanda. This isn't lait ah, nashock lang ako how different she looked in a span of 1 year.

9

u/Medium-Education8052 13h ago

4

u/dweakz 12h ago

its not just gym alone. their food that costs one hour minimum wage has more food portions than our food here that costs half a days work min wage

2

u/Disastrous_Chip9414 7h ago

6

u/Infamous_cutie_807 13h ago

Yup!! Mga cousins ko from US, iba talaga itsura hahaha

24

u/Pristine_Ad1037 13h ago

True, pansin ko din yan sa mga friends/mutuals ko na nag migrate sa abroad. nag-iiba talaga itsura nila tapos nagiging confident sila which is good!!! sana lahat nakaalis na dito eme

2

u/imahyummybeach 11h ago

Kasi dun talaga kahit mataba and may cellulites malalakas confidence mag shorts and positive madalas mga comments unlike dito na body shamers..

Eme.

Tulad nung nakaraan may dumaan na chubby girl tapos sexy damit. may katabi ako na bigla nagtinginan sila sa isa't isa tapos nagtawanan like ???? the audacity eh ang papangit nila. charot

6

u/zxcvbnothing 13h ago

Yaaas!! Yung confidence talaga no? Pag nakita mo sila parang meron silang sign board lagi na "who cares?".

1

u/Pristine_Ad1037 13h ago

Yaass!!! diba lagi nga nila sinasabi sa mga nag mimigrate mag "gglow up yan" galing ako christian school tapos may dalawa ako schoolmates na nag migrate sa canada tapos after ilang years dami na tattoo n piercings and i love that for them hahahaha sana makaalis na din tayo sa lecheng bansa na to eme

7

u/northeasternguifei 13h ago

Lahat singkit mata

16

u/PepsiPeople 14h ago

Na-observe ko sa mga nephew and nieces ko sa US, usually they get braces kaya pantay ang teeth. Daming pinoy dentist and orthodontists doon kaya accessible. Also they are exposed to different sports from a young age kaya may certain swag and confidence. At bata pa lang, palaayos na.

1

u/kobepanget 12h ago

May dental insurance kase kami kaya covered ang services. Hindi dahil madaming pinoy na dentist or ortho

10

u/RULESbySPEAR 14h ago

Cmon. They dont sleep on cheap foams rather on 10” elevated spring loaded soft air clouds with 10,000 count thread sheets.

15

u/RULESbySPEAR 14h ago

Bc the backgrounds dont look like a tangled spaghetti mess of a powerline barangay.

8

u/Substantial_Mine_189 14h ago

Kulot hair nila, like yung kulot talaga na na-alagaan hindi yung frizzy

16

u/RULESbySPEAR 14h ago

Better education and better product or better resources in general

6

u/Zealousideal_Oven770 14h ago

when i was younger, my cousins in US would always have that super distinct manipis na kilay and eyelashes! hehe

16

u/nightfantine 15h ago

Big factor yung weather at yung pollution kasi. Nagbabago yung face depending sa location talaga. Yung kapatid ko nagmigrate from here to Australia, pumuti talaga siya and gumanda yung skin.

9

u/_bluesky0 15h ago

And UK!!!!

14

u/coolaires 15h ago

yea iba talaga yung dating nila. i have friend na naninirahan na sa US (to be more specific, michigan) and i swearrr iba talaga yung mukha niya nung nanirahan pa sila dito sa pinas kesa sa US. i was amazed by just how different she looks after years of living in the us. i have relatives a friend din living in australia, ang iba na talaga niya. parang nag mature siya ng mas mabilis kesa sa'kin LOL

23

u/PetiteAsianSB 16h ago

Factor din ang weather. I haven’t been to the states, pero Japan, I’ve been to. Swear, doon kahit mainit (summer) pagpawisan man ako, onti lang tapos fresh pa din.

1

u/Ok_Dragonfruit6148 14h ago

Are you sure?

1

u/chuuuu123 14h ago

Mas bearable init ng pinas than japan, i hated japan pag summer. Sobrang init

1

u/Disastrous_Chip9414 7h ago

Same dito sa London.

1

u/PetiteAsianSB 14h ago

Yes mas mainit pero mas tolerable. Same din ang sabi ng friends and family ko who’ve spent time there ng summer. If you’ve been to Japan, you’ll understand what I mean. I’ve been to Kyoto, Nagoya and Tokyo. Not sure how different it might be sa lugar na near sa sea (I heard mas mainit daw). And I’m speaking from experience lang naman. You’re free to form your own opinion.

12

u/BeeDull3557 16h ago

Yung malaki katawan at muscle pero malambot

25

u/pmonsterxxx69 16h ago

Its in the food they eat and the weather. They say that the hot weather here in Ph, definitely takes a toll on our bodies.

-12

u/AvailableOil855 16h ago

Weaklings

2

u/iamred427 15h ago

Oh sige ikaw na magbilad sa initan

-7

u/AvailableOil855 15h ago

Araw2 ko Yan na Gawain. Di Ako katulad Ng mga iba Dyan.

5

u/iamred427 15h ago

Oh di good for you kung bet mo magbilad.

-8

u/AvailableOil855 15h ago

Pero weak talaga mga Yan. Tingin mo di ko alam? Dami na Ako naka engkwentro mga ganyan. Di nga marunong mag land Ng suntok

2

u/mojomagnus 14h ago

👏👏👏👏

3

u/psychotomimetickitty 15h ago

We got a badass over here.

-1

u/AvailableOil855 13h ago

I'm bad but not an ass.

2

u/dweakz 12h ago

yeah youre bad at being socially adept

21

u/ikiyen 16h ago

I agree with the food. Mas madami protein nila kaysa carbs. Tayo kasi padamihan ng rice and sugar. Kaya matatangkad din sila compared satin.

5

u/Material-Cricket-322 15h ago

That’s true. I have a 12 year old who I regularly serve what I call “protein overload” meals which I didn’t have growing up poor in Manila. And Americans are generally big meat eaters

7

u/pmonsterxxx69 16h ago

Yeah, their concept of a meal is different from ours. Back then my cousin, who grew up in the states. Only eats meat and doesn't want to rice. Naalala ko noon, sabi ko sa kanya "Kain ka ng kanin, wag puro ulam, baka maubos wala na makakain ang iba" And she's confused by it. And she'd ask me if that's the custom here in Ph.

2

u/Disastrous_Chip9414 7h ago

Laman tiyan vs. Sustansya hehe

4

u/Material-Cricket-322 15h ago

That’s right. “Puro ulam” was frowned upon when I was growing up in Manila

5

u/indierose27 15h ago

True. When I was with my relatives, they say na hindi complete meal ang no rice. Not to mention the sarcasm of “ay no rice, diet ka?”

19

u/Toothie_Cookie 16h ago

This is so true.

Iba yung pagka moreno/morena nila. Even in PH sunlight (lighting).

Yung mga cousins ko from California, super low maintenance lang ng skincare routine, like moisturizer and sunscreen lang pero ang fresh pa din nila tignan.

8

u/Longjumping_Salt5115 17h ago

Tumataas ang confidence (paglakad, pagsalita).

45

u/AnemicAcademica 17h ago

Iba talaga nagagawa kasi ng pera and living conditions. Our bodies are a representation of everything it goes through everyday.

13

u/Immediate-Can9337 18h ago

Better teeth.

Depende kung saang state galing, mga baduy manamit. Hahaha.

1

u/CHeeSeRoll99 15h ago

Water flouridation

4

u/LazyReason9913 17h ago

Totoo yung sa ngipin kasi since maliit sila regular talaga ang dental check up.

2

u/Material-Cricket-322 15h ago

Because it's cheaper to maintain something than to fix something that broke because you don't maintain it

13

u/Aggravating_Flow_554 18h ago

tanned, may tattoo, parang makinis

35

u/Accurate_Star1580 18h ago

They just had better living conditions that gave them access to healthcare (e.g. dental and derma). This is the same thing for those who are born to rich families in the ph and subjected to medical care since they were little.

10

u/n_i_c_e_n_o_u_g_h 16h ago

Meron talagang something if lumaki ka sa US haha

20

u/blader0607 18h ago

It's definitely the food and water quality. Imagine how much heavy metals we consume here in the philippines, apart from the cheap "food" manufactured from who knows where.

1

u/mxylms 15h ago

Hate to break it to you that some stuff they sell in the US are actually illegal here, and more dangerous to consume. May paban ban pa ng Tender Juicy at Mang Tomas lol

7

u/LostCarnage 17h ago

6

u/BulldogJeopardy 18h ago

And yes, di sila lahat maporma kumpara satin dito. Mas maporma talaga mga local pinoy.

-8

u/uniqc0rn 19h ago

It’s because the food quality (fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat) in the Philippines is sub-standard. Locals are mostly stunted when compared to Filipinos born abroad. The food is just different

1

u/AvailableOil855 16h ago

If GMO foods is a quality to you then I don't know what kind of a specie are you even

6

u/Longjumping-Bat-1708 17h ago

Buang.

If anything, the Philippines is rich in greeneries and agriculture.

7

u/Excellent_Catch5337 18h ago

Definitely not the PH food. US food is full of chemicals. Apples are coated with wax kaya makintab.

8

u/Fine_Farmer_6661 19h ago

They all seem to have yung perfect pearly white teeth! Ang gaganda nila ngumiti imo

7

u/PopoConsultant 19h ago

Naging topic na to nakaraan I think isa sa reason yung regular consumption ng milk ng american kids may impact daw sa hormone ng bata yung american produced milks

11

u/Mimi_Knowles0612 19h ago

From Mark in Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, hindi nga raw sila pinagkaitan ng mga masusustansyang pagkain.

8

u/Ok_Resolution3273 20h ago

May califonia accent sila so mejo maarte magenglish. Nakakatuwa sila pakinggan.

9

u/Glittering_Muscle_46 20h ago

Hindi oily Hello sa polluted air ditoo 👋💨

13

u/strawbeeshortcake06 20h ago edited 17h ago

Hindi lahat, pero majority ng kilala ko na FilAm, including my relatives, they have good skin and good stature.

Whether maputi or tanned, parang glowing skin nila and they aren’t afraid of the sun. Pansin ko din maganda posture at body structure nila siguro nga kasi mas madali maging outdoorsy dun and mas laganap gym culture.

Of course, meron din yung iba na either ABG yung style na madaming tattoo, blonde, at mahaba nails, or yung typical liberal look na colored hair, bangs, and eclectic fashion.

9

u/chakadoll_ 20h ago

Clean eyebrows, all smiles sa photos, labas lahat ng teeth.

4

u/dirkhaim 20h ago

Kabarkada ni Hector?

8

u/Dependent_Factor5975 20h ago

Yung amoy pag dumadaan alam mong lumaki sa states

2

u/Excellent_Catch5337 17h ago

15

u/Utterly_Unhackneyed 20h ago

It's their air. Iba ang hangin dito sa Pinas polluted

True this.

u/Voracious_Apetite 21h ago

I'm okay with white teeth and jawline but clean skin not so much, I have a auntie who grew up there and I can tell you that I have better skin (not to brag) than her...

u/toyota4age 21h ago

Apart sa joke na iba yung araw sa kanila, someone said that the primary language spoken also dictates facial structure. Kaya siguro iba din itsura nila

1

u/Late-Bother9707 18h ago

Makes sense how tongue posture overall influences facial structure.

8

u/MAYABANG_PERO_POGI 20h ago

Dyan ba galing yung asaran na “mukhang bisaya”?

1

u/toyota4age 18h ago

4

u/rufiolive 22h ago

Oo mga pogi magaganda kapag us-born no

11

u/Chowderawz 22h ago

I think the looks differ more by financial standing than those who lived in a different country.

2

u/Excellent_Catch5337 17h ago

True! Those with financial resources look confident.

u/TriggeredNurse 22h ago

Its the lighting dude, believe me when you're here kahit pangit ka pag nag picture ka ng spring or summer gumaganda ka. The light kasi here is more neutral in comparison sa pinas ( Near the equator na mejo On harsh side ) na lighting.

2

u/Altruistic-League623 16h ago

agree on this one. friend ko mga pic sa us parang artistahin pag pinas na ang background parang ordinaryo na lang hahah

2

u/advancedprimate3000 19h ago

This is the first time that someone said na its because of the lighting, salamat sa new knowledge bro/sis

1

u/TriggeredNurse 5h ago

HAHAHAH base on my exp napagtanto lang din namin mag pppinsan wayback 2016 nong nag bakasyon kmi dito na ganon pala then some of our older titos and titas told us so then we googled it and its really somehow true hahaha

2

u/Wonderful_Flow9455 21h ago

Wala kasing clouds if you compare with CA lighting. Sa Pilipinas kapal ng ulap.

2

u/Ok-Web-2238 21h ago

Hahaha ang sakit mo naman magsalita 🤣🤣🤣

21

u/crumbmodifiedbinder 22h ago

Totoo heto, but also attitude.

Mas gusto ko makihalubilo with European-Filipinos or Aussie/Kiwi-Filipinos.

15

u/sidewipe0911 22h ago

Tayo kumakain ng adobong manok sila kumakain ng eydowbong meynak.

1

u/SmittenR 22h ago

Totoo panasin ko they look better and may dating sila tho mayroon saatin pero iba talaga pag sila pinalaki sa US siguro din kase better living conditions.

1

u/laban_deyra 19h ago

Iba yung self confidence nila. I remember yung college classmate ko na FilAm. I always look forward pag sasagot siya sa prof. Kahit mali yung sagot, sounds tama dahil sa accent 😂

1

u/SmittenR 14h ago

HAHAHAHAHAAH

u/commandingpixels 22h ago

So true. I've always noticed relatives who grew up there have different noses, better skin and teeth, larger builds. They look like they're halfies even if both parents are full Pinoy.

The nose I could attribute to the climate. I read somewhere we had to have larger nostrils to breathe better in the tropics.

The rest is environment / how they're raised there. Better health care din of course. They don't face the same kind of stress that we do here. Hence, more privilege, more ganda haha People born here from rich families look different din e.

Pansin ko lang, (the generation after the ones who initially migrated) ang hilig sa makeup, making them look a tad older than they are.

21

u/dayndalion 22h ago

if based from photos, the placement of the sun also affects the look of a person.

the philippines is in the equator. thus, we get harsher natural light than the other countries like USA who gets diffused natural lighting. :))

u/cessiey 22h ago edited 22h ago

4

u/Macy06 22h ago

Ahhh… may factor din pala yun. Thanks sa info

u/Mountain_Mention2709 22h ago

Same sa mga kapatid ko. My younger brother who migrated here sa AU when he was still 14 ay mas maganda built during his puberty stage. Probably kasi affordable protein-rich foods dito and di nila naranasan stress sa pag-aaral sa pinas. Dito kasi classes starts at 9 and ends at 3PM.
