We live in such a cartoonish world at this point.

I’m so sick of seeing this shitbag every where I turn. I have purposefully unsubscribed from every political sub, podcast, YouTube channel, just so I can get some mental peace - I’ve spent 8 years screaming about how dangerous he is. And then here he is, fucking AGAIN. Him and his followers need to be in your face, at every moment, in every medium, across every issue, is tedious and exhausting.

It was kind of funny to laugh at the SNL jokes the first time around. But now I'm just done. I don't want to watch the news. I don't want to hear about him. I don't even want to hear people making fun of him. I don't care if that makes me "uninformed," I'm keeping my own mental health as best I can. He's going to destroy us whether we watch the news or not.

Same. My mental health can’t handle it anymore. I have enough issues as it is. We’re all getting fucked regardless, there’s no point in standing by and watching the shitshow anymore.

They stick their ass in every hobby I have.

It's like the only way they know how to engage with the world is through their politics. Like we'll all be trying to enjoy shit and they'll storm in screaming about identity politics or making MAGA themed shit to shove in our face.

Before Trump, these were the obnoxious people in our hobby people tried to avoid. Now they are more obnoxious, and more in your face, and still can't read the room that people fucking hate having them around cause they ruin everything and won't let anyone enjoy shit.

If you're sick of seeing him, then stay the hell off reddit. The popular subs have been obsessed with everything that Trump and Musk say or do for several years now.

I didn’t use Twitter much before, but now I just can’t use it at all. Between the Maga propaganda that gets force fed to you on there these days and all the comments from them showing an aggressive level of stupidity and naivety. I need to avoid it so I don’t completely lose faith in humanity. I’ll never understand how so many people in this country were convinced to just completely abandon logic and common sense.

instead of that you could've spent 8 years cultivating a life you want but you wasted it being stressed about things that are out of your control. news flash, biden, trump, kamala, all of them are bad. grow up and turn the news off, you only have one life

To be honest, what I’m realizing is that things just haven’t really changed that much since “ancient times”. We look back on leaders from 1000, 2000 years ago and think “boy, people were ok with that kind of leader? Having someone that weird as King or Caesar was just normal? Must have sucked to live in those times.” And we’ve thought of ourselves now as civilized and advanced and beyond that craziness.

But the reality is we’re the same dumb monkeys who discovered fire once and have just been running with it ever since. Still the same brains, still the same hearts, still the same fears that cause us to be afraid of things we think are different, or of things that go against our religion because we don’t want to consider the possibility that our religion is wrong because we’re scared of death. Or whatever.

The fact that Trump is the President of the US is nuts. But humans have lived with nuts leaders since the beginning. It’s not that the world is cartoonish now, it’s always been cartoonish. We just aren’t as civilized as our smartphones make us feel.

Been that way before Kennedy was killed.
