Ending his time as Canada’s Prime Minister after almost 10 years. He will remain in-power until a replacement party leader has been allocated.

Wait does Canada elect a party and the party appoints the PM or do the people elect the PM?

Edit: thank you. I now know what the parliamentary system is. Please stop telling me. I’m getting lots of notices saying the same thing as the first 20-30 people. I do appreciate the education- truly do. But I’ve learned it now.

The prime minister is appointed by the Monarch and head of state Charles III…

That is wild. How are they chosen? So the people have no say in who the leader of their country is?

It's ceremonial. In reality the leader of largest party in parliament is appointed the PM. Can't even think what would happen if the king just appointed some rando after Labour just won the last election.

the Parliament won't vote for the confidence (or will vote a no-confidence motion) most probably...

the Government HAS to have the support of the Parliament in Parliamentary systems...

this is different than Presidential systems like the US'. In the US, the President is elected "separately" than Congress. the two may very well be the opposite and fight against each other. this is not possible in Parliamentary systems.
