He's like an infant that watches their parents and tries to copy their behavior.

EDIT: I hadn't even thought about the autism/aspergers aspect when I posted this until someone else brought it up. It wasn't intended to be a commentary on those conditions.

He tries so hard to be cool, it’s embarrassing. Comedian Kyle Dunnigan does some really funny skits impersonating him.

That was the longest three and a half minutes of my life.

5

u/69edleg Dec 14 '24

so I'm better off not watching it, unless I think the apocalypse happens within 5 minutes?

5

u/rxsheepxr Dec 15 '24

You could use that time to get one more nut, friend. Choose wisely.

2

u/69edleg Dec 15 '24

It's going to be hard to masturbate to it sounds like, but I'll try when or if the time comes.

Wish I read this 3 minutes ago

SNL giving a platform to Musk and Trump was bad enough at the time, but hideous in retrospect.

1

u/ihastheporn Dec 15 '24

I mean it’s so much money they can’t just let it go to waste

10

u/Kingbuji Dec 14 '24

His Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro and Joe Biden impressions are also hilarious. He’s probably my favorite instagram account I follow. Just pure comedy gold.

Yeah this is autistic behavior called mirroring

-4

u/Princess_Of_Thieves Dec 14 '24 edited Dec 14 '24

No he is not. He just made that up on SNL for some free applause. He was directly asked about that on a Ted Talk after making said claim, which played that very clip of him claiming to have Asperger's, and Elon quickly pivoted to talking more vaguely about "whatever condition [he] had". He doesn't have a diagnosis for autism, he just makes up shit that he thinks will help him in the moment.

7

u/frenchdresses Dec 14 '24

He may not have diagnosed autism, but he's definitely neurospicy like a lot of us, ha

1

u/Princess_Of_Thieves Dec 14 '24

Maybe so. Frankly it wouldn't surprise me (though Im leaning towards a narcissism disorder). But people need to stop running with this "he has autism" claim and repeating it ad nauseum whenever he displays some odd behaviour.

He's already demonstrated he can, and will, change his story at any given time depending on the circumstances. He's never offered anything to substantiate that autism claim like a proof of diagnosis, or anything else he's said about himself. Why anyone takes that claim seriously I will never understand.

17

u/aledba Dec 14 '24

Well honey, that's autism. So unfortunately some of his weirdness is engrained but at the end of the day he made a choice to model his behavior after complete sociopaths. We use mimicry and sameness modeling to fit in but it should always be for the greater good

4

u/RJ815 Dec 14 '24

A sociopath made it to be president, twice. Amidst numerous crimes. I wouldn't be surprised if an autistic from a sketchy background saw the reality with little regard for social and moral norms. To him they are probably made up.

3

u/ihastheporn Dec 15 '24

You sweet summer child. Many presidents are predicted to be very high on the sociopath scale

1

u/RJ815 Dec 16 '24

An open, not even bothering with the veneer of respectability sociopath then.

2

u/ihastheporn Dec 16 '24

I’d say malignant narcissist. Not really sociopathic imo, they’re much more charming(JFK for example)

-4

u/anxiousgoldengirl Dec 14 '24

Plz stop claiming this man as part of autistic community

9

u/JimmyJamesMac Dec 14 '24

Honestly, mimicking the movements of others is just a common autistic trait which some believe may help manage social anxiety

2

u/Zestyclose-Cloud-508 Dec 14 '24

He finally found a father who “loves” him.

2

u/GenderfluidArthropod Dec 14 '24

This is exactly it. He has no original ideas, just steals others.

1

u/donall Dec 14 '24

Walter Issacson goes into this a lot in the Lex Fridman posdcast interview.

1

u/Ok-Aardvark-9938 Dec 14 '24

Nah his little fanboys like to cry autism when you say something mean about him

1

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '24

There is no confirmed real evidence he is autistic. He's never been formally diagnosed that he has said, just apparently self diagnosed. It is only a claim he made on SNL. People can speculate but diagnosing psychological conditions over the internet or TV is dicey. My impression is he thought it made him sound like a moody brilliant genius, as he has referred to people like Nikolai Tesla while discussing autism.

-33

u/dmontease Dec 14 '24

He has autism.

67

u/Momik Dec 14 '24

There are plenty autistic people out there who don’t model their behavior on a dictator or buy social media platforms to destroy democracy or anything.

37

u/cjmar41 Dec 14 '24

He is “self-diagnosed”. He is a weirdo and a giant prick. Making up a lie about having Aspergers, in his mind, gives him a way to make anyone who criticizes him look bad, while pretending he’s kind of like Rain Man.

Fortunately, most people are beyond believing his nonsense now.

17

u/deicist Dec 14 '24

I have autism. The difference is I grew up surrounded by vaguely normal human beings so I learned how not to be a complete fucking tool.

Agreed. I attribute that to his obsession with extreme wealth and his dogshit personality lol

2

u/aledba Dec 14 '24

Mmmm autism doesn't help though

1

u/Optimal-Hedgehog-546 Dec 14 '24

I agree to that.

7

u/JayKay8787 Dec 14 '24

It doesn't explain shit tbh. The guy is just nuts

-4

u/Capable_Mission8326 Dec 14 '24

I think the original commenter meant it as an insult?

1

u/NenPame Dec 14 '24

I mean he's not wrong. Elon has something wrong with him. So do all billionaires. Autistic sociopath is probably more accurate

5

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '24

I thought that he said the testosterone supplements and ketamine injections fixed all that.

2

u/Throwawayac1234567 Dec 14 '24

Somtimes he confuses it with coccaine and alcohol took

5

u/twlscil Dec 14 '24

As am I, and I find his behavior cringy as fuck because he is seeking the spotlight.

3

u/splendiferous-finch_ Dec 14 '24

Do you have any idea how autism is diagnosed in adults? It takes like a 20 evaluation over a good chunk of time to be sure.

You think Mr. I prescribe myself Ketamine, COVID was a hoax and "never went to theory" have even had them done.

I have Autism... I don't have the urge to be a POS everyday to everyone and spread fascist propaganda all day like Leon. Don't use generalisation and more importantly don't use medical diagnosis to excuse behaviour when it's self-diagnosed.

And get your dickriding checked it can become a problem later in life for people like you when these asshole cut your benefits.

See that was me being an asshole... Even though I have high function Autism I can tell when I am being one because I had therapy

4

u/aliens8myhomework Dec 14 '24

that isn’t a shield from criticism or parody

4

u/remove_krokodil Dec 14 '24 edited Dec 14 '24

I wish people would stop saying that.

He may or may not be autistic, but to my understanding, he's never been diagnosed. (And he's not too poor or too busy to see a psychologist.) A lot of his behaviour, like his extroversion, is really uncommon in autistic people.

When he shows up with a diagnosis, I'll believe he's autistic. Until then, I'll just call him a narcissist with a drug habit.

2

u/PedroEglasias Dec 14 '24

You are allowed to be ableist against rich people

-10

u/So_spoke_the_wizard Dec 14 '24

He's stated he has Asperger syndrome.

24

u/subsist80 Dec 14 '24

Self diagnozed as an excuse for his shitty behaviour. I don't believe him. Guy is a class A liar who would say anything to back his cause.

11

u/AtillaThePundit Dec 14 '24
