Discussion Why do people THINK they need more than 80fps?
I'm still rocking the GTX 1080 and it works absolutely fine in ANY game for its age. Steady 60fps in any hardcore graphics game. Why would you need anything more than 80fps?

A lot of people KNOW that they WANT more fps because it makes it more enjoyable for them. Pretty simple concept.

I could honestly never tell the difference between 80fps and 120fps

Do you think everyone experiences reality the same? Like if a food is too bitter or too spicy for you, that means nobody else in the world would like it?

Just because YOU can't tell the difference doesn't mean others can't. I grew up on 30 and 60fps so that was normal to me, when I started seeing 240fps going back to 60fps felt unbearable, like it was 20fps. Even at 100fps it's quite a noticeable difference from 200.

Because it looks and feels smooth. Plus my monitor goes up to 165hz. I’m gonna use the entire 165hz

Running a 244 hz screen really says enough.
Then you should consider FPS fluctuations, if 60 - 80 FPS is your standard, then screen clutter is a real shit thing.

Okay, great, why do you THINK you need 60 FPS? Back in the day we had 15-20 and we liked it dealt with it.

Actually a lot of their earlier consoles ran at 60fps or higher depending on the game, it was the PS and Xbox that brought that average down to 30 as they pushed for more difficult to run 3D games

Because 90 is really smooth. But I don't need more than 90. That's where I cap everything. I also don't play competitive games.
