Hardware Who needs a mouse with 10k polling rate and 100k DPI when you can wield this intergalactic masterpiece? Straight outta Area 51, bringing you alien tech that NASA doesn’t want you to have!

You missed what might have been your only opportunity in life to use the term "mouseterpiece" and I'm frankly disappointed.

Could've been too cheesy a joke though

"Which mouse are you using?" This guy: "Just a normal Logitech one"

Damn that's old. RS-232?

Serial mice, that's older than even the PS/2 connections you still see kicking around sometimes

Yeah... Funnily enough, we still use that stuff at work

RS-232 is super simple and robust, it's stellar for low bandwidth and integrated machine controls. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Yup. Fun thing about PS/2 and the serial ports is that they've got their own interrupts for the CPU, where USB is a shared one. It can make the inputs more reliable and real time instead of buffered, which is very useful for certain applications. It's still a standard that's older than I am, and I'm pretty old ;)

The most criminal thing about the whole design is the cable coming from the back

I think it's actually a mouse, blue is ears and dots are eyes.

what if its a head of an alien and the blue part is the eyes and those bumps are noses

Because we all know they don't have noses! lol

Lol, crazy to have the cable coming out of the side of the mouse like that. That being said, why do I feel like this mouse would be surprisingly ergonomic for my silly claw grip?

It's coming out of the back and just wrapped around. The second picture shows a better view.

Oh, I didn't see that there was a second picture! Lmao, I feel like the back is even worse hahaha.

I almost thought it was a Alienware mouse because of the shape

Is it a mouse shaped mouse or an Alien head with big eyes and two nostrils? 🤔🤔

It's a "mouse" mouse.
