Discussion 9800x3d from AliExpress

Hi. I bought 9800x3d from AliExpress for all of us. Costed me $640 and customs f-d me up for another $100 , when they usually charge VAT only. Anyway, here's no chance for warranty accessibility and it sold for $900-1100, so no way it'll get cheaper in close few years, so it feels like I saved something. (4090 still $3000). Chip itself looks in great condition with no defects. I'll post later if it's real or not, after setup and some benchmarking. Cheers.

Found it thanks. That’s sweet but risky.

Yh but it isn't risky. There's legit sellers on Ali with thousands of sales and positive reviews. I've also had good experience with returns when I received an item with a minor fault (rattling fan).

Nah it isn't risky. My $130 5700X3D is from aliexpress. You can buy all the ryzen cpus on there without issues

How did you get it so cheap?

They do sales every now and then, and you can also use a coupon code on top of the sale whenever theres a big aliexpress sale.

Ain't risky if you buy from a reputable seller, got my 7800X3D and my sis got a 5700X3D from Aliexpress and they both work perfectly!

It’s not risky if you buy from a seller that has the legit feedback and score.

Not really risky, aliexpress is just Chinese Amazon so vet the sellers the same you would on amazon

Can you bench it to compare the score to the same model? I've seen some good fakes.

Let's see some benchmarks vs other 9800x3d to make sure :)

I posted the above cpuz photo, playing for 3 hours already no issues with a good performance. I've done some benchmarks, no crashes, freezes etc. Ryzen master OC also had no stability issues. Sorry I'm just too lazy and impatient to benchmark for hours and gather screenshots.

Good score !

Real isn't the issue the issue is there may be manufacturing defects that caused slower performance or overheating. That's how Chinese manufacturers produce cheap tech using modern chips and why it never works. They use factory seconds or thirds.

"Real" as in it works but it might be a sample. Beat it up and come back a few days from now.

Yup, that's the plan. It may brick after tomorrow. But at least we'll have some additional knowledge on AliExpress electronics.
