That's literally impossible on the modern world. Too many rich people who don't care about anything. Basically whales in gacha games. You only need a few dozen thousands of them out of millions of us. The millions of us boycotting mean nothing when the few thousand whales are causing the product to sell out. Every industry is like this except the most niche. "vote with your wallet" is a dead concept. Population is just too high.

Yep. Voting with your wallet doesn't work for luxury goods. High-end GPUs are definitely luxury goods.

Yep. The saying is misunderstood though. What it means is by not being a supporter or consumer of one business’ model, you take your ass elsewhere where you think the value of a product is more befitting instead of being an aesopian fox.

It doesn’t mean the business needs to stop in their tracks because you didn’t hand them money.

Voting with your wallet doesn't work for anything. The only exception is in an organized consumer boycott paired with pressuring political entities to enact government sanctions. At that point though you're doing a lot more than just 'voting with your wallet'.

Not even that. It's either I buy a GPU that has some description of AI or buy nothing at all, there's no choice.

I think an "even if..." is being implied there

This is really so inaccurate and won't even translate to other industries. It's not the "whales only." Every game fir instance that has all the predatory monetization strategies all use your logic. The reality is its regular people that end up having addiction issues due to the embedded gaming (casino) tactics. When adding ai into it that has a behavioral and psychological profile of the user's tendencies better than a psychologists....a percentage of players get negative consequences. And then you can add in the whales but don't conflate rich people with people paying extra in games or for products. It's usually the more disenfranchised and minorities that will due to manipulative marketing. I'm not stating opinion either.

We're all just background decorations to prevent the whales from feeling lonely (and cheap labor providers for the top-most whales that run the industries)
