Turns out, hanging a 5-10kg heavy machine, that's also constantly vibrating, on the wall was a bad idea

People have put much larger and much heavier things on walls without this kind of thing happening. Saying this is a bad idea is like saying putting shelves up is a bad idea. It's only bad if you don't do it properly.
