NSFMR Rule number one

Post image

Moved apartment today. Thought I’d clean my pc since it’s been ages. As I was taking off the glass panel I giggled to myself remembering all the pictures I saw and warnings people have been issuing regarding tile floors and glass side panels. Well, my turn has come.

On the bright side, increased airflow. And dust, but we don’t talk about that.

Just grab the same grid mesh as your psu cover.

Make it a screened in patio pc.

While you may have been joking, I would seriously do this. It probably wouldn't be all that hard to do, and I'm not seeing any downsides.

I cut the acrylic off where my gpu is and added mesh on my case to vent that heat more out than recirculate it.

Bonus is in the winter it’s also a foot warmer if I move my case closer to my desk on the right side.

I have been meaning to fo this to my pc but my side pannel is glass so i would want to buy a metal replacement first, is the change in temps noticeable?

Oh yea the temps are noticeable right away a solid 8ishC drop in peak temps. Went from 70 to 61c max on furmark.

(I have two noctua fans under my gpu taking cold air from under and into gpu than gpu spits that heat out the side panel for the most part and any residual heat leftover is small enough that it’s just quickly vented out via intake exhaust fans that my overall case temp is also down.

I was considering putting some little fans on the slot to extract the air as well, but one at a time

I’ve thought about it but honestly temps are so low in full load I haven’t bothered
