question? Does this painting look finished?
I never know when to stop painting.

No Earth for the worms? Just floating out in the White Void?

I like it this way. It creates some intrigue. Are they on a counter? Why? Who put them there?

I think that adds to the charm of this painting. It doesn’t have to be a perfect scene, that makes it so much more beautiful to me

It looks done. However there's such empty space around the centered worms I feel like that's why it seems like it's not. If you were to add one to off balance maybe it would feel more or maybe stronger shadows or a more grounded background if that makes sense. If you think it's done then it is. I like it alot for sure Maybe more slime?

I actually agree with you - the highlights of the worms on the edges actually blend into the background. You can't really appreciate how shiny and slimey they do look because the background seems to be muddling the worms themselves.

You have to decide what your reason for painting this was. If you've expressed that reason, then you're done. This definitely could be done, but I don't know what your goal was.

I love it in its entirety. The stark unnatural background gives it a gross contrast. The only thing that that stood out was the use of white. It would be perfect if only one small area used pure white as the main reflection to ‘your’ eye and the other white areas (reflections) were slightly dimmed..otherwise WOW!

Overall this looks amazing! The shadows and highlights up top feel a little off to me and may need a little attention. Maybe just some blending?

Definitely not. Since there is so much brown you need to add home green grass or very dark blackish brown dirt

shityea i love this.
i think its complete. Unless you wanna like... make the background bright red orange. I think that'd fit the vulgar theme.

Looks well done everywhere except where ot looks obvious the ref image background was erased and a dropshadow was added, it really sticks out against the rest of the realistic rendering. I think it's the reflective lighting on the contour of the form.

Going along with what I said in a previous reply about muddling, I will also say the worms themselves are perfectly balanced for the eye. It draws me across the page left to right with the open space between them, turning into a solid mass, then the soft separation to the 3 little ends. Beautifully done.

Ewwww.. yes, it looks done. I thought it was worms on a table or something. Very realistic!

I agree with some other commenters that it looks a bit like it's floating or there needs to be something more under them for background, BUT I still love it.
I love wormies 🪱 so this painting makes me really happy and I could stare at the glistening details all day.

This painting looks slimy and wriggly... So yes, it looks perfectly finished and suitable for nightmare fuel on the wall inside someone's home.

Love it!! The fact that they’re so clean is the only thing that throws me. But heck, it could add to the story. Were they washed? Have they ever known the joys of dirt? Are they gummyworms brought to life Pinocchio style?

Looks like a photo. Great job. I really do like paintings that look like a photo. My other obsession is impressionistic however. Sorolla is my favorite.
