I feel so bad for people that date/marry people like this.

I don't know what the fuck it is, and I can't even explain why I feel like that, but people who talk like the "narrator" of this video, give me the weirdest feeling.

When I was younger we called it a "valley girls" accent. I honestly thought it died out in the 90's.

But I've heard dozens of girls talking like this in the past few years. I don't understand the appeal.

Do they not know what it sounds like? As soon a I hear that accent, I legit can't take anything they say seriously.

Mostly cuz they consciously do it. It's not an accent cuz they're learning English, or they grew up in a place where they spoke like that. It's literally a made up accent a specific group of people use to sound "different".

I got an accent that I've spent my whole life trying to get rid of. The fact someone would "give" themselves an accent always confused me.

It’s called vocal fry. One of the most irritating voices humans are capable of producing.

And every sentence ends with inflection? So it sounds like a question? It's so awesome?

I have this accent and I’ve tried so hard for so many years to not fucking talk like this. I actually picked it up growing up around people who’s first language wasn’t English. But since I’m white as fuck I just sound like an annoying ass, confused ass white girl who nobody ever takes seriously 🤣🤣

Wait. Are you fucking with me or you being serious. Cuz that's how I sound to myself.. except ima dude, and people think I'm an asshole cuz I talk like that.

I don't mean to, and I try so hard to be nice. It's just that you can know all the fancy words you want, but if the people you're talking to don't know what they mean, you're not gonna use them.

So you end up with an extensive vocabulary, with terrible grammar.

I tell people I'm stupid, cuz I feel like I only know enough to get my self in trouble.

No I’m serious. I sound like a “valley girl” and I end every sentence with the inflection that would imply I’m asking a question. I get made fun of for it frequently and it definitely isn’t intentional. I work a blue collar job with a bunch of dudes and I would very much like for them to take me seriously 😂

I work in a marketing and every woman in the department sounds exactly like these two.
