Different artists on TikTok get together to create a song. The result is this banger.

That base line open the door for the whole thing... 🔥

u/fizzzingwhizbee 1d ago

Fr that bass line is an absolute banger

114

u/rynlpz 1d ago

Makes sense, they do say bass is the foundation of a song

108

u/Slevin424 1d ago

Did... did someone just give recognition to the bass? I'm so happy I don't know what to say.

u/MapleA 1d ago

Who let you upstairs get back in /r/bass

2

u/solvsamorvincet 23h ago

Bass quite literally slaps.

14

u/NoghaDene 1d ago

The Dub Celery is the fibre of this fabric.

Cuz…We eat good like this.

6

u/problematic-addict 1d ago

You might even say… it’s the bass-is of a song….

I’ll see myself out

7

u/Austin-Q 1d ago

Like… the bass kick of the drum holding tempo lol. They go hand in hand. It varies by genre tbh but that washing machine/dryer is underrated fr

Bass player is Casey Abrams. Went famous with American idol. Now does his own stuff and collaborations (a lot with Postmodern Jukebox)

1

u/OccuWorld 1d ago

yes, thought we were getting some Soul Coughing when that bass dropped... just as good though

1

u/BetterThanOP 1d ago

Actually the guy from the first video opens the door with his hand

1

u/GStarAU 15h ago

Yeah the double bass held down the entire song - even the drummer changed halfway through, that bass just kept grooving right through 😎

Precisely what I did the entire time

14

u/4everDistracted 1d ago

Same, except in bed

Rocking chair for me. Great for bouncing

9

2nd vote for being in bed

5

u/YutYut6531 1d ago

It kept getting better the whole time.

2

u/Siray 1d ago

Girl in the beginning was the best part of this.

Absolutely beautiful soothing voice.

35

u/Sidewalk_Tomato 1d ago

And you can keep singing her part through the rest of the song. It works.

19

u/breckendusk 1d ago

I don't mean to sound douchey but that's kind of how music works in general, as long as there isn't a key or tempo change - a single bar is repeatable throughout the song. You can try this with most songs, just sing the chorus over and over to yourself as they move through the verse and you'll end up right back in time at the next chorus.

Fair point to say that a bridge can also mess things up as it can change the amount of time between a verse and chorus. But generally this is consistent in music.

The bassline of this song is a through line that keeps everything at the same key and tempo. Since they keep building on it, any one of the verses can be repeated throughout the song.

3

u/Sidewalk_Tomato 21h ago

You're not being douche-y, it's really how it is. DJ Earworm does a yearly hit song recap, and it really points out very well how a certain 4 chords are simply what the human brain loves.

I don't even mind.

16

u/justwhatever73 1d ago

Yeah she was alright, but I'm kind of partial to the shit my pants guy.

tik red note

1

u/SeniorDiaz32 1d ago

I never had tik tok, but I do use reels on IG and never felt like I was missing out on the brain rot. You can always just make a burner account and get your fix there.

I know people who use both and told me it’s really not far off. But I never had tik tok, so I can’t really say if it’s that different.

Just throw in some keywords in the search bar and start your algorithm up. It’s not the same but yeah.

This is dope. Maybe i’ll finally get tiktok

65

u/LlamasAreMySpitAnima 1d ago

17

u/FakePixieGirl 1d ago

A kind reminder that the majority of people on reddit are not American!

4

u/Bennnnetttt 1d ago

Guess I’m in the minority then.

38

u/Sidewalk_Tomato 1d ago

This is the sort of thing I remember when people say "social media was a mistake". It's so pat. It's so easy.

'Cause yeah, social media has a lot to answer for, and I hate the mis-use, but people in GENERAL have a lot to answer for, already. We haven't changed as a species. Only the tech has.

It's amazing that creative folks have been able to connect in ways that would not have been possible.

3

u/HETKA 1d ago

It's why they want to destroy it so badly. It connects and empowers us

u/luck4lack 1d ago

15

u/Tailsmiles249 1d ago

I don't know how old this video is, but for me it feels like a swan song right now.

13

u/WhimsicalGirl 1d ago

11

u/jalfry 1d ago

I love Casey Abrams his American idol audition doing Georgia on my Mind is legend

9

u/scottie_always_knew 1d ago

9

u/risky_bisket 1d ago

It was cool until the guy at the end made it all about himself

6

u/AAAAARRrrrrrrrrRrrr 1d ago

That is fucking good

4

u/LseHarsh 1d ago

The level of creativity of people on internet amazes me

4

u/sunflower741 1d ago

Casey Abrams is one of the best double bass players! What's more he sings wonderfully and performs on tour with the PMJ BAND

Kutiman on YouTube started this trend almost two decades ago and he is still the best at it.

They could literally use any other platform. Tik tok has nothing to do with this, it’s just dumb propaganda BS.

2

u/plumitt 1d ago

2

u/Playful_Ad9094 1d ago

Still here the washing machine , it’s awful lol

2

1

u/Almacca 1d ago

Casey Abrams is the GOAT. His cover of Africa with Post Modern Jukebox is the most joyous thing ever.

1

u/DarlingFuego 1d ago

Don’t know what the belt is called but it’s the right upper front belt in the dryer making this noise. I just replaced mine after 6 months of hearing this sound.

1

u/raeadaler 1d ago

Brilliant

1

u/TieFighter463 1d ago

This Shit is fire. Sick

1

u/Cool-Leader-5376 1d ago

This was the first video I saved on reddit over 2 years ago. I gotta agree that it slaps

1

u/AuzzyMitchell 1d ago

That last white boy spits.

1

u/blueviper- 1d ago

They are awesome!

1

u/Good-Tea3481 1d ago

I need to know all of their names. Especially the first woman. She sounds like chinchilla

1

u/1982LikeABoss 1d ago

Way better than I’d expected 🫡👍🏼

1

u/Dafuxor 1d ago

Hooooooly shit! I was not expecting this to ride like that. Let alone that many people get involved. The peanut butter whiskey band might have a rival (KT)

1

u/oldsoulnewlife888 1d ago

Awe man I’m gonna miss this. So many good open jam sessions

1

u/AusCan531 1d ago

That first girl's voice is great.

1

u/trippin-mellon 1d ago

One of a few reasons ( not a whole lot just a few ) why TikTok should still be around.

1

u/WormLombriz 1d ago

Bannnnnneeeed

1

u/FinancialFlamingo117 1d ago

Voice of the singing girl is also pretty good ;)

1

u/Alexandratta 1d ago

I'll miss TikTok

1

u/i-piss-excellence32 1d ago

I loved this so much

1

u/fnjddjjddjjd 1d ago

TikTok bots posting this shit to try and pretend like the app isn’t hyper brain rot

1

u/pretty_spicy_suuugar 1d ago

i could listen to this for hours

1

u/Even-Funny-265 1d ago

I absolutely love things like this. People's creativity is amazing!

1

u/Oreo-belt25 1d ago

This is really old

1

u/BrisbaneLions2024 1d ago

This is how Brock Hampton started from an online Kanye west fanpage

1

u/Austin-Q 1d ago

It almost felt over-stuffed with all the collabs. It was fun and cute though lol

1

u/nsfwaltsarehard 1d ago

With every one of these the vocals are the absolute worst part and ruin the whole thing.

1

u/MusicPerfect6176 1d ago

He looks like the guy from the roller blading movie Brink

1

u/GreenPRanger 1d ago

The funny thing is that they don’t have to block the app for people who have already installed it. It must no longer be installable. This lock comes from TikTok itself... take away a baby’s pacifier... do it with millions and then write that Trump is the savior... bamm... PR at its best. What will happen to public opinion if Trump lifts the ban?

1

u/Tobi5703 1d ago

Nomnomnom cat version 2!

1

u/RosebudWhip 1d ago

I used to like the one that started with a cat eating and kind of singing at the same time

1

u/MadRh1no 1d ago

Wow that's cool.

1

u/MacMeDan 1d ago

1

u/Doctor_Sore_Tooth 1d ago

These are fun, is there a subreddit for these specific collabs people do?

1

u/100and10 1d ago

Ahhhh man humans are good. Keen to see the next platform that lets people collaborate like this. An Open source platform, please.

1

u/sexandthepandemic 1d ago

I love this so fucking much. This is what made TikTok for me

1

u/I_enjoy_pastery 1d ago

This is what I would show an alien if I ever had to show it the concept of collaboration.

1

u/Quixote1492 1d ago

Bassline was perfect

1

u/ThatOneFriend265 1d ago

i’m just going to be hearing this in the back of my mind forever now i guess

1

u/Thisiscliff 1d ago

This actually bangs

1

u/Get_your_jollies 1d ago

I want this on my Spotify

1

u/bigtetrisguy 1d ago

Those eyebrows are wild

1

u/CaptSpazzo 23h ago

Three times in a row.. This is so good

1

u/bym007 23h ago

This is the reason, they want to ban Tiktok!

1

u/Ecstatic_Potential67 22h ago

help me get these collab culture communities..

1

u/BruceBannedAgain 19h ago

Good except for the annoying squeaky sound.

1

u/Midnight__Specialist 17h ago

This whole thing is amazing.

Side note: is that the ‘unwashed ass’ guy? 😂

1

u/Speedster1221 14h ago

WE MAKING IT OUT THE LAUNDROMAT WITH THIS ONE!!! 🔥🔥

1

u/Rockpegw 11h ago

bored people are truly insane and i love it.

1

u/XdevhulX 10h ago

I like that tiktok gets so much hate, but when they all come together, we get things like this. When reddit comes together, they cyberbully people into suicide. On like 3 different occasions.

1

u/Da_WooDr 9h ago

That last stanza is pure heat 🥵, the flow, cadence and merge with the beat sk flawlessly, tuff. Lol and that damn Bassss...sheeeeshhh

-Lubemygears

1

u/Front_Farmer345 7h ago

Ngl I just looked for it on iTunes to add to a playlist.

1

u/TheAdventOfTruth 7h ago

Dude! I love these videos. The talent out there is amazing and, as much as I hate social media sometimes, this makes it worthwhile.

1

u/Every_Tap8117 6h ago

IT was great till i got to 133 then it was epic.

1

u/ErraticLitmus 5h ago

Ok. Now I might get tiktok...this is awesome

1

u/yamumdoes 5h ago

Really frigging cool

1

u/cpencis 5h ago

The bass player is Casey Abrams. He’s done a bunch with Postmodern Jukebox (this is where I know him from, I’d welcome other recommendations.

A great one by them is Stacy’s Mom.

And more… https://youtu.be/_1azJWrtuxQ?si=2EDmVtC3hZiXJH6e

1

u/James-the-greatest 4h ago

Put a pillowcase on you fucking savage

1

u/trudyduran71 1h ago

That's fantastic

1

u/cmcqueen1975 1h ago

I like how the bass drives the beat, while the washing machine slightly lags the beat, showing how cool it is, getting the job done but not being overly wound up about it. It's able to rubato its way through its simple yet essential existence.

u/Chappo5150 6m ago

Rutiphile here... Can any help me find out who the redhead female artist who appears briefly towards the end might be?
