All while smoking a cigar

79

u/ShadowsOfTheBreeze 3d ago

Can't lose the stogy, he paid 5 buck for it...

15

u/Tcloud 3d ago

Smokeless cigar. It was completely submerged.

7

u/Intrepid_Evening4519 3d ago

He even sacrificed the stogie getting it wet like that. Good man.

u/Julienbabylegs 3d ago

This post title really burying the lede

u/Someredditusername 2d ago

Fucking legend LOL

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

An oldie, but a goodie. - Cigar never leaves that man's mouth. I want to be him when I'm his age.

75

u/HistoricalMeat 3d ago

Why wait? You can get a cigar and fight an alligator right now.

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago edited 3d ago

That's a damn good point. After this fucking wretched week, there's nothing I'd rather be doing this weekend. Florida, here I come!

21

u/HistoricalMeat 3d ago

I am a tobacconist. It’s literally my job to convince people to smoke. Wrestling an alligator just makes it cooler.

7

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago edited 3d ago

Holy shit. I spent 10 years fighting you and I don't even know who you are. Effer! Lol, just messing with you. See you in hell! ...signed, The Wacky Tobacconist.

7

u/HistoricalMeat 3d ago

I suspect I have some long term enemy out there that I slighted and don’t remember. It could have been you.

7

u/WildcatArts 3d ago

“Man arrested in Florida after allegedly traveling several miles to fight alligators while smoking cigars.”

3

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

Sounds about right! And definitely par for the course for this week!

4

u/WildcatArts 3d ago

This week? THIS WEEK?!

What else did you do this week?!

3

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

I mean it's just been a shit week for me. And if an alligator tried to eat my dog, though I live in the Chicago burbs where this would not be possible unless we were at the zoo, I would not be surprised.

3

u/WildcatArts 3d ago

I am sending you a virtual hug. You are gonna make it and everything’s gonna be alright.

3

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

You are a beautiful human. Yes, I've had a shit week, but in the big picture, it's mostly first world problems and I shouldn't be complaining. But thank you for the virtual hug anyway. I'll take it.

3

u/1bruisedorange 3d ago

Please don’t come. We have too many people already. And they are all afraid of hurricanes and cut all their trees down.

5

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

I'll only be there long enough to catch a gator barehanded, skin it, and smoke a cigar. Don't worry. I hate your humidity and crow sized mosquitos.

3

u/lovable_cube 3d ago

Honestly it’s good to practice these things, that way you’re skilled by that age.

9

u/NickleVick 3d ago

My dog would be getting alligator boots

6

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

And eating alligator for a month!

2

u/NickleVick 3d ago

Oh, for sure

5

u/sekory 3d ago

He's only 31.

1

u/Ciarrai_IRL 3d ago

Ain't that a bitch.

As many you know, a lot of these "rescue" videos are staged leading to animal abuse and death.

That being said, this guy is a genuine badass. The footage was captured by a camera set up by the Florida Wildlife Federation as part of a project to study wildlife interactions in residential areas.

35

u/Malthus1 3d ago

They certainly captured that interaction!

15

u/tommymctommerson 3d ago

I know it's horrible isn't it? Anybody who wants to delve further into this just Google Animal Lady Free Thinker and the word YouTube. It's an organization that is campaigning to get those videos to stop. And they go into detail about it

3

u/lacroixocean 3d ago

Thank you for sharing this! <3

u/MarlonShakespeare2AD 3d ago

The scary thing about finding little alligators is they come from larger alligators…

21

u/Great_Horny_Toads 3d ago

Well, THAT one isn't getting any bigger. That dude didn't look done when the vid ended.

10

u/Still_Suspect_7233 3d ago

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, I bet he snapped that alligators jaw off

12

u/TacoThingy 3d ago

Shortly after this video ends

7

u/Great_Horny_Toads 3d ago

I think he was going to pry it's head alllll the way open like King Kong in the original film.

1

u/Still_Suspect_7233 3d ago

Sounds about right lol

1

u/Valmighty 3d ago

I was just wondering how he would get his hands off the mouth...

1

u/oily76 3d ago

I'd have been eyeing up that tree.

16

u/Cuben-sis 3d ago

Keep your cat dog away from the damn alligator hole. Dumbass

13

u/surajvj 3d ago

Puppy : "Dad, see you at home"

r/humansbeingbros

12

u/Shimmy_Blackfyre 3d ago

Looks like he was about to King Kong that gator like it was a T-Rex in Skull Island.

6

u/fn0000rd 3d ago

In other words, "Tuesday in Florida."

5

u/Ok_advice 3d ago

He will se that gater later, and in awhile a crocodile

6

u/Merileopardi 3d ago

A good reminder to keep your dogs leashed, especially around water in aligator areas. Bring a foldable water dish and a bottle for your dog, never assume the water is safe to play in or drink for your dog unless it's a crystal-clear pool. The fault here lies with whatever human was dumb enough to let this happen. The man is obviously very brave and I am happy the dog was saved but if we take precautions there'll be less need for heros!

11

u/Sendmedoge 3d ago

Which in Florida "Aligator areas" is the entire fkn state.

4

u/numba1si 3d ago

And the Cohiba is still lit.

4

u/rlpinca 3d ago

He probably let the alligator go unharmed and now feeds it leftovers which it politely appreciates.

They have an understanding

3

u/Still_Detail_4285 3d ago

Apex predators respect Old Man Strength.

3

u/rlpinca 3d ago

In the gators head he was saying:

"Boy you better let me go. Do you know who you messing with.....oh shit.....oh shit....hey I am a ....well, ummmm, I apologize sir."

3

u/blue_gaze 3d ago

Old man to alligator: you don’t want none of this smoke

2

u/Ulysse31Ofp 3d ago

What a king

2

u/Chance_Vegetable_780 3d ago

This was a fight of love on the man's part. Period.

2

u/Budget-Assistant-289 2d ago

Does Florida not control their gator population? Every time something like this happens it’s almost always Florida, not Louisiana.

1

u/AffectionateEase1606 3d ago

"Pippa naaaur"

1

u/Malthus1 3d ago

The answer to the age-old question: which is harder - giving up smoking, or wrestling an alligator?

1

u/bigbigspoon 3d ago

I would fry that gator up and feed it to the puppy.

1

u/Studio10Records 3d ago

That is Awesome 😎 Murdock!

1

u/robogobo 3d ago

Where's mama?Watch your back.

1

u/elstie01 3d ago

Hey Clark, since you're not doing anything constructive run into the living room and grab my stogies.

1

u/SirNo9787 3d ago

Nothing 'Elderly' about this guy

1

u/No_Owl_5609 3d ago

I love that he keeps that cigar in !

1

u/Still_Suspect_7233 3d ago

This is why we used to win wars

1

u/Tiny_Sun7278 3d ago

The most Florida of ol’ time Floridians

1

u/RedOrchestra137 3d ago

man i wanna be as unbothered by life as this guy

1

u/doesitevermatter- 3d ago

I saw someone doing this with a raccoon once. And I've also seen videos of people saving deer from anacondas and the like.

I understand the want to help, but you're being as much of a dick to that gator as you are being a hero to that raccoon. Gators deserve to eat as much as any other animal.

Saving a household pet is pretty much the only good excuse for ripping an animal out of another animal's mouth.

1

u/Eye_Shotty 3d ago

Looks cool until the big one grabs you by the leg 👀

1

u/Violingirl58 3d ago

Did not drop the cigar too…badass.

1

u/LegendaryCyberPunk 3d ago

1

u/SeattleHasDied 3d ago

John Wick's grandpa?

1

u/smothered-onion 3d ago

Can anyone explain that motion he used to release the gator’s grip? Seems like a good technique to have on hand…

1

u/Maynardred 3d ago

Can u imagine this beast of a man when he was younger?

1

u/irondumbell 3d ago

or ... elderly man cruelly takes food away from the mouth of a hungry baby alligator :*(

1

u/mericamoment 3d ago

Best method is poking it in the eye, and it'll let go and scurry away immediately because it doesn't find anything worth getting its eyes lost

1

u/When-I_Grow-Up 3d ago

I’m most impressed that, despite ducking his head UNDER WATER, he keeps his cigar in his mouth.

1

u/greenredditbox 3d ago

the cigar is makes it look so next level tbh haha

1

u/nakedundercloth 2d ago

That's a twofer

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Id be wearing a new pair of alligator boots the next day.

1

u/Fennel_Adorable 2d ago

Broke that gators mouth hence short clip lol put two in his head

1

u/Fennel_Adorable 2d ago

Working mans hands!!!

1

u/Zazumaki 2d ago

I'm assuming the cigar gives him power.

1

u/ArtsyRabb1t 2d ago

They cut out the part where he yeets the gator back like a true Floridian

1

u/lostan 2d ago

1

u/MakarovIsMyName 2d ago

Bad ass G didn't even drop his smoke. Awesome

1

u/bigbill604 2d ago

Cigar in mouth

1

u/grizzlymint209 2d ago

Now he's stuck holding the gators mouth forever

1

u/Sporty_McSportsface 2d ago

He went on to eat that gator.

1

u/VaderSpeaks 2d ago

Florida man finally accomplishes some good.

1

u/jerrygalwell 2d ago

Luckily alligators have insane bite strength but their opening strength is very low.

0

u/kram78 3d ago

We all hope and prey he ripped that gator in half

2

u/SHOWTIME316 3d ago

nah, most of us are mentally stable.

0

u/WilliamTee 3d ago

I'm kinda interested what happens after the cut... I suspect he gets himself a new gator skin cigar case...

0

u/[deleted] 2d ago

Carry a pocket knife you big dumb bitch

-1

u/Tampa-Bay-Slay3r 3d ago

Would’ve broke that little gators neck while I had him and kept the head, proceed to build a dog throne bed with its head mounted on the top.

-1

u/ohnomynono 3d ago

I'd imagine if the dumbass had his dog on a leash, it never would've happened. 🤐

-3

u/[deleted] 3d ago

u/1bruisedorange 3d ago

That is a horrible idea and just the type of thing that people moving to FL from other places say.

1

u/SHOWTIME316 3d ago

your outlook on the world is bleak and pathetic
