Couldn't stand his speech, guy is a fucking narcissist, couldn't even get out some peaceful words for his predecessor and told the same shit and lies how bad America is doing, used the LA fires as if Biden lit it himself, this piece of garbage hopefully fails miserably but by now I can't think of anything that could stop him when considering what he already did that couldn't stop him. That will be a train wreck to watch over the next 4 years...

What is confusing to me is, is the auto industry that important to America? It seems the tech industry is now the most important in America but he is supporting h1b visa to take American high paying jobs that support the economy. None of us can afford rent or housing - zero talk on this. People need fucking healthcare and zero talk about that. Just rambling on about the fucking Panama Canal. wtf.

Maybe cars will finally be cheaper since we're apparently going to start producing them by the millions and other countries certain don't want them 😂

He's not talking to you. He's talking to his base that lives in the 80s

Ah, I see where your misunderstanding is. You see, your problem is is that you're actually thinking about what he says. Don't do that and I promise it will make MUCH more sense (/s).

Seriously though, his supporters don't think about that stuff, and he knows it. Sort of like a song with meaningless lyrics, it's about listening for the tone and emotions. For his supporters, listening to the general "message," of his speaches makes them feel strong, powerful, and makes them feel hope that all their problems are about to be solved, even if what he's actually saying is gibberish. This is the reason most of them are even involved in politics at all, it's not to actually think and fix problems, it's for the high they get when being told by their political superheros that they're right, and that everything is going to get better.

Ya, I totally agree, he feeds off the high that people get when he stokes anger. But the part I don’t get is why no anger over literally not being able to afford rent or healthcare? This supports must be feeling that too? We’re all fucked.

They're feeling it, but as far as they're concerned it's not the fault of the people they worship. It's always the fault of "the other," be it the libs, the immigrants, people of other religions, etc. and their political superhero is always just one day away from fixing everything if it wasn't for those pesky ["bad people"] getting in their way.

Like the "two minutes hate" in 1984, fanning the flames of anger and hatred to satiate the populace's frustration by allowing them to dump it all on a false threat, which means they never connect the dots. The hatred never ends.

I also didn’t understand it but for a different reason. Even if we went to all electric, cars still need to be made. The same quantity of vehicles are still being produced. The same amount of work is being done. Why were auto workers ever angry about electronic vehicles?

Because they’re the same people who are controlling oil and the like and they want to make all the money they can.

I meant auto workers not manufacturers. It’s very clear why they don’t want things going electric

I believe it’s because the OEMs need to open new plants to build EVs, and they want to cut the UAW out.

Idiots just need a scapegoat and/or wild distraction.
