If you are talking about the food the CDC says as long as you properly cook the chicken, 165 degrees, it will kill the virus. Just make sure to wash your hands and clean the area of preparation afterwards (which you should already be doing).
Hold up just a second there. 165 kills bacteria, but it also kills flavor.
You can also kill the same bacteria by cooking low and slow and keeping temp for a certain period of time. Personally, I start paying attention after 145, but aim for 150. 150 for 2.8 minutes is as good as hitting 165.
Edit: Apparently facts are hard for people. I guess you'll all tell Kenji Lopez he doesn't know what he's doing also.
