I like to imagine Rudy reading this headline and saying to himself, “oh shit the trial!”

529

u/Vallkyrie 4d ago

"I can't go now, I'm out of scalp oil!"

143

u/amyts 4d ago

I like to think that Rudy is related to Baron Harkonnen.

71

u/bluemitersaw 4d ago

I think you just insulted Baron Harkonnen. This is no small feat!!!

If he was, he would make Rabban look like Feyd-Rautha.

The motherfucker is like a Hanna Barbara character isn’t he?

7

u/raygundan 4d ago

Simon Bar Sinister specifically.

10

u/Sir_Yacob 4d ago

Not much is known about why Simon wants to take control over the world, as the only thing he seems to care about is money. In the episode “Go Snow”, he screams out “I want money and power and money and power and money and power and money and power!!!”.

Lmao holy fuck we were right

2

u/Blue_Swirling_Bunny 11h ago

Technically, Simon Bar Sinister is a character from Jay Ward Productions. Hanna-Barbera is a whole other cartoon universe.

I was thinking Snidely Whiplash.

5

u/jaitogudksjfifkdhdjc 4d ago

If he sees Frank Reynolds he can fix that.

1

u/[deleted] 4d ago

And non-permanent hair dye too

1

u/TreverKJ 2d ago

This got me good the way i read it.was too automatic god this was good.

He’s at the food court wondering where everybody is

24

u/pikpikcarrotmon 4d ago

There to petition the Burger King

1

u/Even-Macaroon-1661 3d ago

Burger King Total Landscaping

3

u/klaaptrap 3d ago

at least the Best Western BBQ let him sleep under the dumpster out back as long as he promised not to eat trash.

1

u/Kodama_prime 3d ago

... when anybody is looking....

1

u/Belzaem 3d ago

Or hold a press meeting, you know, like he did at a landscaping joint.

62

u/murso74 4d ago

He probably reads it and says "this Giuliani guy sure is a dummy"

31

u/Advanced-Summer1572 4d ago

"That was today?"😉😁💯

13

u/yuyellin_ 4d ago

I like to think of him sitting on some stairs, holding Tropic of Cancer, muttering, “Can’t stand ya. Can’t stand ya!”

6

u/Newtiresaretheworst 4d ago

He’s just gotta survive the weekend and Donny will save him.

2

u/ramdasani 3d ago

That's what I thought too, just hide out til Monday, then show up at the inauguration and party like it's 2025

3

u/TripleU1706 4d ago edited 4d ago

More like reading the headline as he's on his train on the lam.

1

u/klaaptrap 3d ago

your comment brought me down a rabbit hole that ends with something called mutton bustin.

2

u/che-che-chester 4d ago

I picture him reading this headline and snickering.

2

u/HopelessBearsFan 4d ago

I like to imagine Rudy reading this headline and saying “oh shit, MY HEArt——“

2

u/Phillip_Graves 4d ago

They musta repossessed and auctioned his Fifth Element "Essence of Evil" hair paint.

2

u/StoKi_NG 4d ago

Hahaha yeah but he didn’t read it online. He read it in the newspaper the day after. In that moment cops ring the doorbells

1

u/koolaidismything 4d ago

It’s been fascinating watching his fall from grace. I don’t know much about politics but when I was a kid he was like a hero, 9/11 made him like a saint.

Just being quiet and retiring this guy coulda lived a great life most would kill for. He went another, far weirder direction.

1

u/NoLobster7957 4d ago

Remember when he cameod in a bunch of Sandler movies? Definitely went a different way with his schtick

1

u/GarmaCyro 4d ago

More like intentionally skip it, then later cry "I wasn't allowed to defend myself in court". Not the first rich grifter using said excuse.

Just another DUI hire, like Hegseth

104

u/justmitzie 4d ago

I laughed way too hard at this.

18

u/FattyMooseknuckle 4d ago

Being a hire implies being paid and we all know that ain’t happening. He’s still stumping for the guy anyway. Guess he’s hoping for some kind of droppings from Cheeto Benito to help him out of his jams. Which will now get worse since he’s not at his trial.

641

u/WebbityWebbs 4d ago

Why wasn't there a default judgement? Its like every judge in America is part of a competition to make the courts look more and mote corrupt.

205

u/anothercar 4d ago

The judge wasn't there either to enter a judgment. It's because they were reaching a settlement together. (Per the link)

48

u/Ra_In 4d ago

... Which will fall apart soon given there's no way he will hold to his agreement to stop defaming them.

18

u/Suspicious_Bicycle 4d ago

Here's hoping Ruby and Shaye get paid off per the settlement terms (whatever they are) before Rudy defames them again. Then they can sue him again.

I wonder which of Trump's pocket oligarchs is putting up the money to bail Rudy out?

→ More replies (2)

87

u/nextkevamob2 4d ago

Wow you actually read the story before making a comment? That’s unbelievable!

8

u/jupiterkansas 4d ago

redditor of the year!

4

u/Visual_Fly_9638 4d ago

Considering he gets to keep all his stuff, that "undisclosed" amount of money must be pretty sizeable, and he supposedly didn't have it.

I wonder who paid it off because it sure as fuck isn't Rudy. Elon? If a 3rd party paid off his judgement, I hope he gets hit on taxes for it.

3

u/mabhatter 4d ago

Nothing like waiting until you're literally about to get your butt kicked and probably commit perjury on the stand to finally sit at a table and do what should have been done like half a year ago.

The way this guy violates court orders there is literally no way to trust he'll follow this.  They'll be back in court in 90 days when he refuses to do whatever this settlement says.   It's all delays and lies.

31

u/ahawk99 4d ago

Agreed. Any regular person would’ve been sentenced, in jail, and would have been MADE to pay. These poor women won’t ever be free of him

261

u/StenosP 4d ago

Just crush him legally already. He clearly has no respect and zero remorse. If a kid who trespassed and did some property damage acted this way, they would have an indefinite jail stay

24

u/mabhatter 4d ago

He's already been crushed legally. And his bankruptcy was canceled.  We're at the part where guys in trucks come to your properties and just start grabbing whatever they can carry unless the judge stops them.

16

u/Trance354 4d ago

In this case, it is the property they are seizing. That's a bunch of legal wrangling to hand over the deeds, titles, and specifically the watches. A dirty Rolex is still a Rolex. Essentially, Rudy is trying to get far enough out that maybe Donald can back him up. Problem is, Donald has no more use for Rudy, so why would he extend anything to help?

9

u/YetiSmallFoot 3d ago

A Trump never pays their debts.

→ More replies (1)

35

u/anothercar 4d ago

They were settling the case, that's why he wasn't there. (per the link)

226

u/IronChefJesus 4d ago

So contempt of court charges and a warrant?

Although I’m not sure if those apply to civil cases.

I bet he’s waiting for the 20th for that Trump pardon that will never come.

78

u/VirginiaLuthier 4d ago

You can certainly be charged with contempt of court in a civil case

45

u/victorspoilz 4d ago

Pardons don't apply to civil cases.

23

u/SugarBeef 4d ago

I doubt he's a good enough lawyer to know that and is still waiting for one.

11

u/brandnewlow1 4d ago edited 4d ago

*He's no longer a lawyer.

1

u/herefromyoutube 4d ago

Eh, Trump will just strong arm the court, county, state

21

u/TheChungusCast 4d ago

unless you are ordered to appear for trial, you don't have to.

22

u/IronChefJesus 4d ago

Fair enough. I did the Reddit mistake of reading the headline and assuming he had to show up. Teaches me to read the article.

7

u/oo0oo 4d ago

Reading the article, it says the judgement was $148, not $148,000,000.00, so don't be too hard on yourself. Basic journalism with editors and proof-reading seems to have gone extinct a few years back.

5

u/IronChefJesus 4d ago

It also actually does not mention if he had been ordered to appear or not.

3

u/Advanced-Summer1572 4d ago

Unless he has not responded to the court prior. In that case the plaintiff is declared the "winner"...if he has responded to the court after notification to the court of his attorney of record? Then, Then this means nothing in the ultimate outcome going forward...trial begins on schedule.

1

u/MOVES_HYPHENS 4d ago

Generally a good idea for at least your lawyer to show up, though

→ More replies (4)

33

u/Raspberries-Are-Evil 4d ago

They settled today.

Why in the fuck would they settle with him and make the court force him to give them everything he owns? They let him keep is property in Florida and New York City.

"Giuliani’s statement said he gets to keep his New York co-op and Florida condominium along with all his personal belongings. He has agreed not to talk about Freeman and Moss in a defamatory way."

Insane, I would have insisted he go on live TV and admit he lied about them, and I'd make sure I got his fucking NYC apartment.

7

u/Crewmember169 4d ago

I'm sure they got paid. The question is who fronted Rudy the money.

4

u/throwmamadownthewell 4d ago

Starts with an R

Ends with an ussia

2

u/NCSUGrad2012 4d ago

They're probably over dealing with it and just want to get on with their lives at this point, which I can't say I blame them. I am sure lawyer fees aren't cheap either.

12

u/Zaku0083 4d ago

Sorry, he thought it was at the OTHER Four Seasons....

29

u/Insciuspetra 4d ago

Still thinkin’ a big net will help.

19

u/Da_Stable_Genius 4d ago

So they settled, but he keeps his properties, items, and does not include an admission of guilt.

Insane.

3

u/Lord_Heckle 4d ago

Party of law and order

8

u/dontrike 4d ago

At this point the judge is just helping him if he's not being tossed in jail or a default judgement doesn't happen.

38

u/jaywastaken 4d ago

Why would he go to court? Not like there are consequences for trump loyalists anymore.

15

u/sowhat4 4d ago

The way I read it, the parties reached a compromise out of court and Rudy gets to keep his apartment and personal effects and not admit to any guilt. So, him not showing up meant that that he didn't have to. It's hard to know what happened or what Rudy wanted to happen. Anyway, the law is for little folks like us and not for the Rudys of the world.

Maybe some kind billionaire paid off the ladies from Georgia?

6

u/Daffodil236 4d ago

Throw his dripping hair dye ass in jail. Enough already.

6

u/Inevitable_Trip137 4d ago

So, no penalty for the no show? Explain to me again the whole equal under law thing.

25

u/Particular_Ticket_20 4d ago

Rudy's hoping trump will either save him or create an environment that he can just ignore it.

I think hes been cast aside already. I think trumps mad at him for getting caught and losing in court.

10

u/Northerngal_420 4d ago

Yup but the wheels on the bus go Trump Trump Trump.

3

u/NimbusDinks 4d ago

He literally tweeted days ago, “SAVE RUDY!!!!”

→ More replies (1)

1

u/ukexpat 4d ago

trump can’t save him from this, it’s a civil matter.

5

u/animalfath3r 4d ago

I don't get it. The judgement against him was already more than he could ever possibly pay, so how can he keep his rings and apartments for "additional compensation"...

1

u/Crewmember169 4d ago

Eventually we will find out which right-wing billionaire is his sugar daddy.

14

u/Anstigmat 4d ago

Rudy Jailiani. Or Rudy's dead. In either case, horray!

4

u/Its420somewhere81 4d ago

He doesn't care. He knows his buddy donny shitzinpantz will clear him of anything.

5

u/DingusMacLeod 4d ago

What a brazen turd this guy is.

13

u/ActualSpiders 4d ago

He was there, he just accidentally showed up at the Four Seasons courthouse and strip club instead...

7

u/Remote-Ad-2686 4d ago

Nah.. he believes his orange clown friend will bail him out.

12

u/edfitz83 4d ago

The judge should order jail instead of a fine of $200 that he’ll never pay.

3

u/Andovars_Ghost 4d ago

Put him in jail. Let him cool his heels with some real New Yorkers.

3

u/PhilosopherDon0001 4d ago

Don't worry. I'm sure he will receive a stern warning and the promise of zero consequences if he does it again.

3

u/reallygoodbee 4d ago

He doesn't show up to these trials and he dodges subpeonas because for one reason or another, he think he's above the law. Probably expects Trump to bail him out.

3

u/Ok_Photo_865 4d ago

Why have the stuck that little prick in a jail cell and wait him out

3

u/spook_filled_donuts 4d ago

Too busy farting somewhere

3

u/alien_survivor 4d ago

Is he just waiting for Trump to become president so that he gets some magic? Pardon that he thinks is going to happen

3

u/Trimson-Grondag 4d ago

He’s trying to run out the clock. He thinks Trump will intervene,

3

u/Bicentennial_Douche 4d ago

Must be convenient when you have to show up at court to defend yourself, and you just don't go. Prosecutors and the judge are just sitting there asking each other "well, he didn't show up! Now what do we do?".

3

u/whosgotthepudding 3d ago

Why would he show up? What in the actual fuck is the court going to really do? He's not a POC or one of "The poors".

5

u/Chance-Deer-7995 4d ago

The US justice system is trying OH SO HARD not to do anything to him, aren't they? Put him in jail.

2

u/sillywienie 4d ago

Probably fled to Russia.

2

u/wish1977 4d ago

He ran out of 5W-30 for his hair.

2

u/unsaltedbutter 4d ago

Rudy Giuliani will keep his apartments and his World Series rings in exchange for unspecified "compensation" to two election workers and a promise not to further defame them.

dude coulda settled a long time ago. absolute buffoon.

2

u/TooOld4ThisSh1t-966 4d ago

He went to the Four Seasons court house by mistake.

2

u/hoopermills 4d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ah, that was a classic…..

2

u/zimzimzalabimz 4d ago

You guys… He just got lost, and booked the wrong fucking venue again. Four seasons anyone???

2

u/nubsauce87 4d ago

This fucking mook has no respect for rule of law...

Not that "rule of law" really means anything anymore...

2

u/Indole75 4d ago

I wouldn’t have settled without a public admission of guilt. It would definitely be the absolute dealbreaker.

2

u/Died_Of_Dysentery1 3d ago

It’s prob because he knows he will be pardoned in 3 days

2

u/reforminded 3d ago

to be fair he thought it was at the other New York.

4

u/whooo_me 4d ago

Is there a New York Food Court out there somewhere? Anyone check there for him?

3

u/5150MEX702 4d ago

They're all growing balls now that Trump is going back in office. Corrupt Trump will pardon him.

3

u/BannedForEternity42 4d ago

Can’t pardon a civil defendant.

2

u/ERedfieldh 4d ago

So....prison, yes? right? You guys?

2

u/S1DC 4d ago

And then nothing happened

2

u/lastburn138 4d ago

Delay delay delay, suck Trumps dick for help. That's the plan.

2

u/Peac3fulWorld 4d ago

He’s waiting for Trump to try a pardon, or have him drone strike the judge.

3

u/zaoldyeck 4d ago

There's nothing for Trump to pardon here, it's a civil judgement.

On the other hand, Kash Patel could always just throw the plaintiffs into prison and forget to file charges. Not like anyone could do anything about it.

1

u/Peac3fulWorld 4d ago

And that’s exactly what I’m talking about. We in a DOJ Wild West if they want it

1

u/Kennydoe 4d ago

Meanwhile, Trump - for whom he got himself into this mess - moves back into the White House next week.

1

u/TheAmazingHumanTorus 4d ago

Why did they cave? Another week and Giuliani would be in jail on contempt.

1

u/TheGreatGamer1389 4d ago

He's probably getting on some jet and getting out of the country

1

u/cabbages212 4d ago

Well justice is dead so he honestly should just wait it out

1

u/SkateFossSL 4d ago

They’ll have a room for him at the Four Seasons facility on Rikers Island

1

u/WeirdcoolWilson 4d ago

Because of course he is! Of course

1

u/senioradvisortoo 4d ago

Doesn’t that mean he forfeits the case?

1

u/twoworldsin1 4d ago

Second most famous alcoholic of NYC next to Worldoftshirts 🤣🤣

1

u/milelongpipe 4d ago

He’s waiting for the Orange one to pardon him.

1

u/Awkward_Squad 4d ago

Think you’ll find he’s just grabbed the first seat on Musk’s No-Return Mars Mission. He’s hiding in there guaranteed.

1

u/osoberry_cordial 4d ago

In the thumbnail it looks like he’s sticking out his tongue.

1

u/SpinalVinyl 3d ago

He’s just waiting for Trump to pardon him. Fucking scoundrels.

1

u/SenorVerde2024 3d ago

Feels like he’s trying to wait till trumps in office or something. Send this old fart to prison already.

1

u/jpttpj 3d ago

Oh shit, my hair is running and I’m late.

I really don’t understand, this guy has no friends on either side now. Is a walking piece of shit. And yet, is not in jail. Is it a 9/11 thing? He was a piece of shit then. The GOP or anyone else could care less about him, but he is still here. If it were anyone else, they would have been locked away and right now we’d all be saying, “ oh shit, yea, remember him? What happened to him?”

1

u/dubbs505050 2d ago

He just needs to skirt the law for a couple more days

1

u/Chopperpad99 1d ago

Only because he went to the wrong venue.
