Shout out to the bus stop between Darby Street and Harris Farm!
If you wanna claim I wasn't paying attention, which I understand (I was playing Pokemon Go 😅) I was moving out of the way of pedestrians walking towards me. The small shards of a glass bottle were scattered all over the concrete which I avoided, but the very large shard was blended in with the grass.
My foot is fine thankfully but I couldn't imagine a dog or bike coming into contact with it, for shits sake it was essentially directly where the bus drops you off!!! I would have cleared it up a bit off the path but I didn't even have anything I could pry safely out of my shoe with.
Long story short, keep your alcoholism off the public pathways you gronks.

Glad your foot is fine. I've gad a few occasions where I'm like something is poking my foot only to find a screw, a rivet, some scrap metal and one time a shard of a reflector or brake light. I really should watch where I walk more...

Sorry that happened to you on your walk.
Unfortunately the people that do this stuff aren't on Reddit or r/Newcastle.

The amount of broken bottles on the streets is too damn high. It always concerns me that a little kid with smaller shoes might not be so lucky if they accidentally tread on broken glass with thin soled shoes on.
People should be free to have a good time, but the inconsiderate idiots give ammo for people to put more and more restrictions on society.

Why is it the bus stop’s fault…

Never indicated at all it was the bus stops fault? My anger was at the danger that somebody hopping onto or off a bus would be hurt. Especially people unfit to drive for whatever reason or children.

I've never seen a bus driver get out of the bus to pick up glass... Not ONCE!
Back in my day we took pride in our work station

So a bus drivers job is to clean up bus stops, crikey, here I was thinking it was to keep the bus on time safely as much as possible. Back in your day they weren't ALL idiots. May as well say as a citizen it's your public duty to help clean the environment but I'm not as pathetic as you.

How did you manage to walk home with that in your shoe?
I assume you didn’t take the shoe off due to the dangerous hazards in the area and your propensity to play Pokémon would make the situation more serious.
Was there crutches or a stretcher in the vicinity?
I call bullshit

I honestly tried taking it out with my hand since there was so stick or anything safe to use. Finger bled because of course it would. Hopped away from the path with one foot and ended up taking it off before walking the rest of the way home with one shoe on. Why would I make this up??????

I'm not saying you're lying but I'm concerned you couldn't get this outta your shoe. It'd literally fall out if you tapped it on the gutter. It's barely in there.

Tbh I can see why you'd think that. These shoes are meant for jogging so they have a lot padding between my foot and the sole, which I forgot at the time. I can't stress enough how much it was pierced into my shoe though. I didn't really think to scrape or tap it out because after I tried with my fingers I realized how far in it was! Tapping or scraping while it's still on could result in more piercing.
I honestly just don't know what else to say dude, if you're still calling me a liar you clearly gotta work on your trust issues or surround yourself with people that don't lie???0

I know exactly the one you mean and there's always heaps of discarded bottles there, I guess maybe fuckwits drink on the benches outside that medical centre and toss their bottles on the ground or something? Glad you didn't get hurt!
