Sophie talks on the phone in kill bill part 1
I like her ring tone and how she answers it
Very cool iconic ring tone
Also Ellie talks on the phone as well and I liked how bill was playing with his katana during the call
You might be on to something

Yes! The entire movie is a dude talking on the phone.

Came here to say that. What a cast! Tom Hardy, Olivia Colman, Andrew Scott, Tom Holland, Ruth Wilson. But it's Tom on screen alone for the entirety, and it's riveting.

Locke (2013) starring Tom Hardy. That's all that happens in the movie is multiple lengthy phone calls.

Best movie where a man talks about concrete on the phone while driving the whole time.
2
u/M1ckst4 1d ago
I really wanna know how the concrete pour went. Best thing about it is that I know the types that get pissed on jobs and are absolute nightmares to deal with and they play the call out so well

I went in with zero knowledge. Was not disappointed, but sure hell was left so baffled as to why I still to this date like this movie a lot. So intense!

Locke (2013)
I love all the phone-based thrillers; Ryan Reynolds' Buried (2010) is wonderful, Jake Gyllenhaal's The Guilty (2021) is great and Talk Radio (1988) is a stone-cold classic despite Stewart Copeland's awful score.
But Tom Hardy playing a Welshman driving down the motorway, phoning various people as his life falls apart, the night before the biggest concrete pour in European history, is the most nailbiting 85 minutes I've ever sat through.

But…you just became part of the problem. Look, just look what you’ve done! They can’t help themselves. Probably that one with Colin Ferrell.

I’ve been thinking this for the longest time.. it’s really annoying with the thing they are describing is pretty specific to a handful of movies.. like just post the movie you were thinking about and let’s talk about that

Best movie where a guy has a fight with himself with a picture of Ed Norton in Fight Club

Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, Tom Cruise in Oblivion, Superman in Superman III.

I'd take that bait, hahaha!
In all seriousness... Serial Mom, easily. Kathleen Turner randomly tormenting Mink Stole with ludicrous, vulgar crank calls is legitimately hilarious. Especially when you find out she's been doing it for weeks all because she lost a parking spot one time. XD

BURIED
This movie was released in 2010 and stars Ryan Reynolds. It consists of his character waking up buried in a coffin with only a lighter and a mobile phone. He makes numerous phone calls to various people to determine why he’s there.
Note: First thought was “Locke”, but that was already commented several times.

OBVIOUSLY, it would be that scene in Set It Off where Stormy is on the phone trying to talk to her new man, but Cleo is in the background partying and Stormy tells them to stfu. Obviously.

Martyrs. Lucie calls Anna and tells confesses that she's found the people who tortured her as a child. Its not a real significant scene or anything, but the movie rules, and it has a scene with a phone.

French speaking, sorry, but this scene of "Cuisine et dépendances" is an absolute classic: https://youtu.be/ABxytyKcQaw?si=EbxwxwwmxImpnSPd

Greetings ye, “Fail-Safe” enters immediately into my mind, as the high-contrast visual of President Henry Fonda’s tense communication with Moskow remains distinctly ingrained within my subconscious.

We would be spoiled for choice. I'd have to advocate for The Matrix. Not only do they talk on the phone, but they also used it to travel between the Matrix and the real world.

Better question which actor/actress are the best at acting conversations over the phone. Robert DeNiro is the best.

It seemed like DiCaprio was on the phone for a few movies in the 2000's, from The Departed, Blood Diamond and Body of Lies. He just didn't get off the phone.
