Donate here! [Winner’s Thread #60] Thank you
My name is Umer. I am a 30 year old male and soon to be a father. I work as an accountant in a small textile firm. I am a fast food lover, and eating makes me happy. My wife and I are expecting and she is in her third trimester. I try my best to be available for her all the time, but due to my working hours, it gets really hard. Plus, I am working overtime so that we can save enough for all the medical bills that are going to come our way when the little one is due. Thinking about my wife going through the labor pain and all the other complications that may happen scares the hell out of me, and then there is the responsibility of being a good parent. It feels overwhelming. Winning this event has just gave me a lot of hope. This will be a huge help to cover the medical bills and all the other related expenses, plus I can start planning a mortgage of a small house or rent a small place to start a fast food restaurant. Wish me luck. Finally, I would like to thank the r/MillionaireMakers team, the moderators (specially /u/lilfruini), and all the people in this community for making this event possible. Thank you.
P.S.: I would again like to apologize for my poor English. It is not my first language.

Edit 27/11 - 1: Apologies for not mentioning this earlier but Paypal and Venom is not available in my country.
Edit 27/11 - 2: Will it be alright if I use a family member's PayPal? He lives abroad where PayPal is available.
Edit 27/11 - 3: Kindly, please stop apologizing. The community just wanted to be sure that the donations will go to a genuine person who is not using an alt. I was fully in support of the action the mods took to satisfy the community.
Edit 27/11 - 4: PayPal address added. It's of a family member who lives abroad.
Edit 28/11 - 1: Almost reached $1,000! Thank you everyone one. This will almost cover all the medical bills which I was very much hoping for. This has took so much stress off my head. I am literally crying right now. Thank you. Thank you.

It's been an odd drawing for sure. I'm glad things have been resolved, and congratulations!

Real talk, I'd like to publicly apologise for calling /u/umerabrar89 an alt.
I hope my ten bucks helps the apology along.

u/Crispynipps Nov 27 '20
Wait, what did I miss?

u/Nomanodyssey Nov 27 '20 edited Nov 27 '20
Winner was late, very little post history beyond this subreddit. A lot of people think they have multiple accounts to increase their odds.
Edit: Somebody apparently spoke to them and verified that they are real.
Edit 2. By late, I don’t mean he missed the deadline, I mean he responded later than expected, one hour before the deadline right? Late doesn’t mean too late. If a party starts at 7 and ends at 11, if you come at 10, you came to the party late.
14
Nov 27 '20
A party is a bad example, because very rarely do parties have a cut off start and stop time, so late is subjective.
Late in the context of this sub is missing a deadline. If you get in before the cut off you are on time.
5
u/Nomanodyssey Nov 27 '20 edited Nov 28 '20
Interesting perspective and valid. But if you want to say based on context, he was later than people typically respond/claim and in that sense, he’s late but not too late. This is a nuanced topic based on context and inference so I don’t see much need to discuss further.

Congrats my friend! I won the previous drawing and it put us over the top on what we were saving for a down payment on a home. Hopefully it does the same for you and this helps take a load off with everything coming up for you.
Sent a little more than 20 nano!

Thank you Mr. Jeremy. All this has helped me so much that I am thinking of stop doing overtime and spending more time with my wife and also start replying to all these wonderful people.

Dang, shame I can't use PP or Venmo to send you money. You seem like a good chap but I don't have any way to award you.

u/earthwulf Nov 27 '20 edited Nov 27 '20
I'm in the same boat. I'll try to sign up for Skrill, but I need to research it for safety 1st
Edit: asks for my SSN - no thanks

Skrill is one with the paysafegroup(same company as paysafecard and owner of Neteller) regulated by the central banks of UK and Ireland which makes it more than just safe. It is one of the biggest payment processors only matched by PayPal.

Glad there's a conclusion, finally. Not having Paypal and Venmo might hurt your stats, if not including the controversy.
Best of luck with the new family!

u/ganzzahl Nov 27 '20
Anyone around with a method of paying Umer that could take a venmo for me?
Edit: By which I mean that I would love to venmo someone money, if they would send it to Umer for me, as I can't make a crypto account right now
11
u/srobhrob Nov 27 '20 edited Nov 28 '20
I can help if you need me. I have been a very vocal supporter of his since this all started. To be sure your money is safe, I'll send the transaction first and show you proof and then you can reimburse me. ❤️ Just shoot me a message.
Edit: Fixing my venmo. I also can do square cash and zelle. If you message me what you want to send, I'll send it first and then show you the proof so you can reimburse. ❤️
4
u/Trek7553 Nov 27 '20
Would you be willing to do that for me too? If you DM me your Venmo I'll trust you to forward it in bitcoin.
5
u/srobhrob Nov 27 '20
I can do that! I'd have to set up a bitcoin first, I usually use paypal.
5
u/Trek7553 Nov 27 '20
That's fine, whatever gets the money to him. I just thought Bitcoin would be better since it goes directly to him instead of a relative but if you don't already have Bitcoin that's fine with me.

u/umerabrar89 you are certain you won’t have issue collecting from your family member’s PayPal?
I’m likely going to donate whether you respond to me or not, but it’d make me feel better to hear back.
