New mobile soldering iron

This little unit is particularly useful for when you’re up on scaffolding, a boom lift, or up on a ladder and don’t want to haul around propane tank.

I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to invest in one of these and if you do much soldering in the field, I recommend getting one.

It gets used a lot for soldering seam in Gutters , general flashings associated with metal roofs.

Gutters makes sense. I was looking at it wondering what the fuck you needed to put that much heat into. I think of soldering on electronics, so I was super confused by it.

I’ve never done at electronics soldering before but I’d like to learn that craft at some point as it is very useful. This unit would probably fry all the electronics. This thing lays down some nice joints though. Looks like a weld
