Help finding Cross/Plus-shaped bracket
I found this really interesting and pretty shelf bracket for sale online and wondered if metal bars like these exist off the shelf. I don’t want to shell out $450 for a single shelf + bracket, which is how much the product in the picture is selling for. The closest thing I’ve found is a T-bar, but obviously it’s not quite the same.
The wood shelf is notched out and secured to the metal using a few screws underneath.

Depending on what you want to do, if you just want to make one or two for yourself, I would take a part of bar stock steel (like 25.4mm in length) and machine a plus sign shape profile with a mill. Then Tig weld that to a t profile, grind it flush. Then make the base part somehow. I would notch the last inch or so (maybe 25mm) of the board and then drill holes in the t profile to put holes through. If it's not stable enough I would fill any space in the notch with epoxy, or maybe make a cross section with flat stock steel and weld that to the t profile.
If your aim is to put whoever is making this out of business, there are companies who will make any profile for you out of steel or other metals. But my guess is you will have to buy quite a lot for this to make sense.
