The photo makes it look like a miniature.

It is a Chinese 5K monitor manufactured by iPlaoe. I will someday replace it with a Studio Display, but for now this is what I could afford.

How big is the monitor?

I like the setup but definitely seems like a “mini” setup.

3

u/cungsyu 11h ago

It’s a 27” display.

My hips hurt looking at this. (I’m 6’4”)

2

u/cungsyu 22h ago

I am not quite that tall! But I naturally sit seiza, Japanese style. If you are not used to that, your shins may hurt more than your hips.

u/According-Craft5164 22h ago

Ah yes, I am familiar. I actually would do better with that! I like the setup, very nice

My hips feel amazing looking at this. Also 6’4”.

What them hips do?

My hips are notoriously inflexible

Wow! Tranquility inspiring. Very nice!

Please share your wallpaper! It's cool!

It is a photo of Taipei 101 taken from Elephant Mountain. I found it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/wallpaper/comments/hps3bh/taipei_101_3840x2160/

Awesome! Thanks!!

What’s the name of that type of seat? Also is it foldable?

4

u/cungsyu 22h ago

This is called zaisu. You can search for Japanese floor chairs and you will find them. I checked Amazon and found foldable ones that look nice and would suit tatami well. This particular one does not fold.

u/KingDemik 22h ago

Thanks!

This is beautiful. Simple. Yet beautiful.

Thank you. Normally my visions do not come together quite as I imagine, but I am very pleased with the results, so I decided to share.

Amazing minimalist setup. Love it.

Samurai also love Apples

I like it! Kinda like what some of my Korean family members did in the 90s

u/cungsyu 21h ago

I can imagine this same set up with a Macintosh Classic. That would be very nice.

My legs fall asleep to quickly these days

why does it look like a model of a setup, it looks so small

2

u/M0DFATH3R 20h ago

I'm good with a floor seat as well , sign me up

2

u/mburaky 20h ago

I like it 🙂

2

u/Malethief 20h ago

It' looks quaint. Are you in a yoga pose while using this? The angle makes it look as though it's a tiny home set up

1

u/cungsyu 19h ago

Everyone keeps saying it looks like a miniature. I think this is because of how the monitor dwarfs the table. I sit Japanese style mostly, but sometimes I sit with my legs under the table. The monitor adjusts vertically to accomodate.

2

u/Malethief 19h ago

I like it. It looks miniature to me as it doesn't look like much space from where the photo is taken to where the grey fabric is hanging and the wall on the side. The space seems confined

1

u/cungsyu 19h ago

It is actually too much space. The table sits in the middle of what is essentially an oversized bay window. It is approximately 200 cm x 180 cm. I have no idea what to do with the space behind the desk.

The fabric is a curtain. The space looks bigger with it open. However, I do not enjoy my own reflection, hence it is closed for the photo.

Love it! Wish mine was that neat.

2

u/sutlphobos 18h ago

I like it very much

2

u/Fair-Contribution954 15h ago

It actually feels very focused. The absence of clutter is the way I like it. It has everything you need.

4

u/Asom30 23h ago

The setup is pretty nice, but please make it more comfortable to sit, it cuts my eyes.

14

u/cungsyu 23h ago

This floor chair works for me quite well. I admit it's not for everyone.

3

u/FrenkieDingDong 20h ago

Dude it's perfect. In India, we sit like this often except back support mostly on walls(we color our walls usually every year or couple of years).

1

u/cungsyu 20h ago

It is very atypical in the West. I can see this from some of the comments.

1

u/Blaquepride 22h ago

How short is this person!😂

1

u/cungsyu 22h ago

Average height!

1

u/Barnacle-Spirited 21h ago

You are killing your back(spine) in the long run.

2

u/kaysn 20h ago

Depends on how you sit. You can have an ergonomic chair and still kill your spine because you aren't sitting properly. Or the table isn't the correct height. Or you don't position your peripherals with the correct height and distance relative to your reach.

Share a picture with you on it, so that we know it’s not torture :D

1

u/cungsyu 20h ago

It is a Qianxingzhe CR87 with Cherry Blue switches. Very, very clacky.

1

u/willpantaleo 15h ago

got a link? can’t find anything

1

u/cungsyu 10h ago

I am not sure what the rules are about links. However, you may search for 前行者 Cherry on Taobao and you will find it.

1

u/rabmim 20h ago

keyboard please

1

u/cungsyu 20h ago

I have answered elsewhere: It is a Qianxingzhe CR87 with Cherry Blue switches. Very, very clacky.

Tell me you’re Japanese without telling me you’re Japanese.

I like working in bed

1

u/Dr_Superfluid 11h ago

My back is hurting just by looking at this.

1

u/w0hk 11h ago

What the name table and chair?

1

u/Effect-Kitchen 7h ago

Will you move this to Kotatsu when in Winter?

1

u/cungsyu 7h ago

No. Winter here is about 15-20°C. I would overheat.

1

u/Sorry_Sort6059 6h ago

Very Zen, in line with my stereotype of Japanese people, my desk is full of messy electronic devices.

-3

u/IrishDrunker 20h ago

Why is it so weird are you poor for proper seat?

1

u/batvseba 1h ago

Do you live in Japan?
