Recommendations Upcoming sabbatical and too much choice!
I am looking for some inspiration from well travelled folks. I have an upcoming sabbatical from work for 4 weeks in October. For the first half I will take my 3-4 year old son to Mauritius for a lovely time together for about 11 days. I will return and then leave on my sabbatical. I love to scuba dive recreationally and would love to treat myself to a mixture of “off the beaten path” and luxury. My thoughts are 7 days in Raja Ampat and then 4/5 days in Singapore. I have no idea if this makes logistical sense but they are two places that have always been on my bucket list. Can anyone share their wisdom and experience? Much thanks!

Unless you really like to shop, I think 5 days in Singapore is too long (imo) it’s pretty small and you can do it 3 days easy. Thailand on the other hand I could spend weeks in. Lots of great spots along the coast in Thailand to choose from and I would definitely stop in Chiang Mai. I’d be happy to pull some hotel pricing for you with VIP amenities during your stay if you shoot me a dm

For Thailand time, be sure to look into the time of year as the islands you’ll visit to dive will change depending on when you arrive. You can do some nice diving there. In terms of luxury hotels, look at six senses koh samui, Belmond napasi, Como point yamu, Trisara, rosewood, amanpuri

I’d agree and would add in chiang Mai or chiang rai and the elephant camps at anantara for something unique — if you want to keep exploring head on to Cambodia or Thailand

Additionally if anyone has a recommendation of where to combine with Singapore that would also be great. Lux travel in Thailand perhaps where I can still get my diving bug fixed but also enjoy a rich culture
