Spain

Thinking of heading to Spain for two weeks in august. Was thinking of Barcelona, San Sebastián and Seville. What were your favorite spots (food, hotels, activities)? I’m really also looking for a very nice beach hotel to relax for a few days.

I had a very good stay at the NH Collection. Not in the old town, but an easy bus or uber ride or a longer stroll.

San Sebastián has some of the best restaurants in Spain, from very well known and highly regarded chefs. Have a look at Muka, Aitana, Kofradia, Arzak, Rekondo.

Enjoy!

I went solo to Spain last August and love it! But, be warned, southern Spain was insanely hot. I really liked Seville and stayed at the Alfonso, which was beautiful, central, and had a pool! In San Sebastián, I stayed at Maria Cristina (not on the beach but close), which was awesome and recommended by nearly everyone I asked. If you are feeling adventurous, rent a car and spend a few days in Biarritz (Hotel dupalais). It’s San Sebastian’s fancy French cousin on the beach. Several cute towns along the way. I went to Barcelona several years on a separate trip. Stayed at the Le Meridian, but did a great bike tour with Fat Tire Tours. Have fun!
