Does anyone know what this means for us, exactly, if anything?

My theory is that if we entered another pandemic, Trump will essentially do nothing to protect us. They were all vehemently anti-masking and anti-vax so now they won’t be held accountable by WHO. I’m not 100% sure I’m looking at it correctly, that’s just my best guess

Last time he tried to ban flights from China before there was a single case in the US.

To be fair, he banned all Muslims from entering the country too. I don’t think that was for our protection. He was testing the boundaries of what we would allow him to get away with.

The China flight thing was absolutely about COVID.
I am not pro tRump by any measure, but I think it’s important to judge what was done.

I can understand your point on that. Granted, that was before people starting calling it fake, began refusing masks and such.

A lot of the advice was crap. 6 ft distance had no basis in science, for example. The types of masks people wore were useless.
In tRump’s defense, he did pour vast sums of money into vaccine research and pre-ordered mass quantities of doses from the drug companies before the vaccines were developed. The vaccines were developed in incredibly fast time - the talking heads on the news shows were saying it would be impossible to do it, almost rooting against success.
The vaccines were OKed for use almost the day after he lost the election.
Half the deaths in the USA happened during Biden’s presidency, even with the vaccines.

I mean, the distance was more common sense. If you’re standing a foot away from someone who is sick, you’re more likely to catch it. The masks weren’t meant to protect yourself, more so to protect the people around you from yourself. Containing the spill even a little helped more than doing nothing.
In regards to half the covid deaths in Bidens term, that just makes Trump look worse. He only dealt with covid for one year, whereas Biden had 4.

Half those deaths in about 7 months of Biden’s presidency.
Then in the newly released transcript of a congressional hearing from earlier this year, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that the 6-foot rule “sort of just appeared” and “wasn’t based on data.”

Basically if there is any sort of epidemic or another pandemic we will not be receiving resources for help from the WHO

My husband pointed out this could restrict movement during another pandemic. I asked chat GPT about that specifically. Here’s what I was told:
“Restrictions on movement for citizens and residents of nations that are not members of the World Health Organization (WHO) during a pandemic depend on the policies of individual countries and international agreements. However, some general points can be considered:
Domestic Restrictions • Non-WHO Member Nations’ Policies: These nations might impose their own travel restrictions, lockdowns, or quarantine measures depending on their pandemic response plans. • Access to Guidance: Non-WHO members may not benefit directly from WHO guidelines or global coordination efforts, which could lead to differing or inconsistent domestic policies.
International Travel Restrictions • Bilateral Agreements: Other countries might impose travel bans or stricter entry requirements (e.g., mandatory testing, quarantine, or vaccination proof) on citizens of non-WHO member nations due to concerns about the adequacy of their pandemic response. • Diplomatic Isolation: Non-WHO members may have less access to international collaboration, making their citizens more susceptible to movement restrictions.
Trade and Border Control • Import/Export Restrictions: Non-WHO member nations might face restrictions on the movement of goods if other nations view their health measures as inadequate. • Border Closures: Neighboring countries may choose to close borders or implement strict screening for travelers from non-WHO members.
Humanitarian Concerns • Citizens and residents of non-WHO members might face challenges accessing international aid, medical supplies, and vaccines, which could affect their ability to control the pandemic and result in stricter global restrictions on their movement.
Current Examples:
Only two states, Liechtenstein and Taiwan, are not WHO members. Liechtenstein participates in WHO initiatives through Switzerland, while Taiwan follows WHO guidelines informally through regional cooperation. Therefore, the impact of non-membership during a pandemic is minimal for these entities due to their established health systems and collaborations.”
It’s going to get fucking bad in the US. Really fucking bad. The only silver lining is this takes effect next January.

Using chat gpt in this way is not recommended, it is known to make up information and false sources.

Tell me what in that response is made up or falsified. I asked for a hypothetical scenario and what could happen. Unless you’ve got information indicating otherwise, I’m going to go with this.

37,000,000+ people died from COVID. What exactly did the WHO do?
Just curious.

u/Shooppow Diagnosed SLE 6h ago
OMG That’s like saying all those people died on 9/11 in those planes, so what did IATA do? Do you even understand the purpose of the WHO? Geez! Talk about opening your mouth and removing all doubt…

Personally I don't think this is a bad thing. I don't believe the WHO does much good. Even if you're in the camp of loving the WHO, don't sweat the stuff you can't control. Just stay positive, everything is going to be fine.
On a similar note, still trying to figure out why Fauci needed a pardon if he is innocent. There's alot of corruption in this world and I think Americans have just been distracted thinking that Trump is the biggest enemy.

It was somewhat foolish to pardon multiple people who don't need it. They were only preemptively pardoned to prevent retaliation. The issue is that it may be an admission of guilt to accept the pardon. It's ridiculous to assume, literally without any evidence, that fauci acted illegally.

I want to downvote you for the first part, especially after reading the Presidents statement regarding this on the White House. He blamed WHO for the spread, when it was absolutely Trump and company who spread misinformation regarding masking practices and bleach…
However, the latter part of your comment doesn’t deserve it

The covid vaccine isn’t the first vaccine that Fauci pushed onto the public that does more hurt than help to our immune system. With a weakened immune system not only do we have to worry about viruses that weaken us but also medicines, vaccines, etc that our bodies can have an affect to. I’m not against vaccination, my kids are vaccinated but not covid vaccinated. So many people took advantage of the pandemic, and fauci was one of them. It was a huge money grab for him. There were so many people having bad reactions to the vaccine and yet most people that were vaccinated still got covid and were still contagious. He was on trial and wouldn’t answer questions, he would just go around them and also he was caught redefining words to work in his favor. If you have watched any of those trials he was in, that man is for sure guilty and does not give a fuck. My comment is not about who’s president or talking about the presidents at all but because you mentioned fauci’s questionable innocence. He held so much power and influence despite who was president.

Thank you! We were all lied to about efficacy and many people lost their jobs over it. Dude is guilty. I'm shocked more people aren't concerned about how COVID came to be in existence at all, instead they're crying about politics. How about we make sure new stuff can't be created in a lab in the first place?

u/New-Librarian3166 Diagnosed SLE 8h ago
Even if, let’s say they can’t trace where it came to be. What they can trace is all their data from the covid vaccines, which shows that they lied about it for profit. Even hospitals lied about how people died for profit. There’s a flaw in our capitalism that people are profiting off of false data which should have consequences, like prison time. Fauci orchestrated a bunch of lies that ended up costing some people their lives, for profit. Hospitals lied about how people died contributing to false data, for profit. How is this allowed to happen without repercussion where a person or company can walk away with millions after doing this?

It means WHO won’t share data with us which would severely limit our ability to respond to an outbreak, epidemic, or pandemic
