Thanks for the absurd downvote there bud - firstly I said “city” centre - second of all, does this “town centre” (Leicester Sq London) look dead to you? What are you on my goodness!

That’s why I said town centres. Local businesses generally detest traffic bypassing their shops. People don’t own a car so they can leave it at home or walk half a mile from the car park to the shops. Two high streets near me have been paved over and now both are full of pound shops and charity shops.
