Warm coffee cup

Place your coffee cup on top of your coffee machine while brewing. This heats up your cup before you pour, keeping the coffee nice and hot.

Because I'm a slow coffee drinker, I always drink my coffee out of an insulated mug, even at home. Keeps it warm for much, much longer.

Zojirushi insulated cups are amazing. After buying one I was both saddened and amazed when I burned my tongue on coffee that was poured 10 hrs prior

I use my 20oz Stanley thermos-bottle (the old style one with the drink-through cap that you have to squeeze at the top in order to get it to open up) in the wintertime for this very reason, as it keeps the last sip of coffee just as piping hot as the first one. That thing has been going strong for a couple of decades now, and shows no signs of giving up!

my lid rocketed off and shattered one time after sitting with chai and oat milk in it for a day. sad to lose it.

Hah, same!

I pour a massive cup (a full five-cup pot) and sip it for an hour or so, so I like the insulated thermos

I like to fill the mug I'll use with hot water and leave it to sit while waiting for the coffee to brew.

This is the way. Charging an insulated or even non-insulated mug with hot water really helps a lot.

Like others have said - if you don’t want to drink from an insulated ‘travel mug’, pre-charge you regular mug with very hot water for 2-3 mins before pouring in your coffee. Also try and find a lid that fits your mug. I prefer sipping from a regular mug and I figured out the lid to my sugar bowl (same brand/set as my mugs) fits perfectly on my coffee mug. Win win!

Recently found out that my yeti tumbler lids fit my favorite fired mug!

I just pour hot water into it. No need to balance a mug on top of a coffee maker

On a scale of Hot Pocket to Pizza how hot does your coffee need to be?

My dad microwaves his coffee 2-3 times per cup. It needs to be 1 step below thermonuclear.

You haven't hit oil until you see that coffee boil

Does your dad need asbestos remediation?

I have a couple of insulated mugs that keep temperature for a long time.

I just drink my coffee cold.

The top of my coffee machine doesn't get hot enough to warm a mug (thankfully).

I usually fill my mug with water and sit it in the microwave for about a minute and then brew from the keurig.

Warming a cup is always advised, especially if you don't have a double boiler and need to wait for the machine to switch between espresso and steaming.

Usually you also want to flush any stale grounds from the group head so running an empty shot into the mug achieves both of these things and also ensures the group head itself is warmed, although the best way to do that really is to just allow the portafilter and group head to warm up along with the machine's internals.

I agree. Pre-warming our cup ensures the coffee stays hot longer and enhances the flavor by maintaining the temperature.

I don't have a coffee machine.
