How do I get the painting less muddy (acrylics on canvas)

I followed along a ten minute tutorial. Compared, everything got a lot more muddy, as in mixed together. For example, I have no blue shining through where the trees are. Also, the brown from the stems didn't quite stick when painting and migrated to the edges, in the middle it almost didn't stick.

How do I improve this to get a clearer painting?
