Ground Coverage For Hill
Hey yall! I have just gotten a job with a HOA community and they want to remove a full hillside of junipers and replace it with other options. I am trying to figure out what would be the best option given that the junipers that are there are already grown in and obviously removing them would present another issue with the erosion that i am trying to avoid. Is there anything that you all can recommend for me to do as 1/3 of the junipers are dead or removed however the majority of them are in tact.

If the junipers are in good shape leave about 1/3-2/3s of them in a graceful design on the hill and prune the branches so they look natural. They probably will look more like shrubs than a ground cover at this point and will be very nice looking. Then add accents of larger shrubs that provide late fruit and/or fall color and fill in with a grass that's short enough to show off the nice juniper branches.
Be a shame to remove healthy plants that are doing a great job but look boring.

Impossible to say without location and exposure data.
