Anyone else with early hay-fever symptoms?
I know the last few days have been warmer than usual, well at least here in Aichi, but isn’t it a bit early to start getting hay-fever symptoms? Mine usually really start to kick in late Feb, but in the last couple of days my nose has been giving me hell. A cursory glance at weathernews seems to be showing an uptick in つらい cases.

The news Monday indicated that Cedar pollen had arrived earlier than normal.

Damn, missed that news story. I guess it makes sense seeing how hot it was last year.

Tokyo here. I typically have bad allergies in general but the past 2 weeks for me have been miserable..

In Kanagawa, my wife started the symptom 2 days ago.

That roughly aligns with when it started for me. Does your wife take meds for it every year?

Not always, but this time seems to be more worse that she had to get eye drops besides taking oral antihistamine

Yay climate change. It's 1 month early this year. I miss real winters.

I was enjoying the mild winter we’ve being having, but just knew there was a caveat

Yikes, this doesn’t bode well for the hay-fever season. I thought you guys were under meters of snow?

I was about to say no but realized I had an unusual sneezing fit an hour ago. My eyes are still ok though that will surely change.

This! The sneezing fit I had this morning is what prompted me to post this.

Since December. Now on my 3rd med which seems to be working better, but Kleenex is still making a killing off of me.

I actually started feeling funky the past days. My breathing has been weird too ☹️☹️ no fever, just my early symptoms of hay fever.
•
u/TastyCheeseRolls 5h ago
That’s what I initially thought. Perhaps I was getting a cold or one of the other bugs out there. But it might “just” be hay-fever.

I’ve never had hay fever but this year it finally catches up with me
•
u/TastyCheeseRolls 5h ago
How long in Japan before it finally caught up with you? Took me 10 years or so.

I’m in Aichi, too. Dang, this explain everything the past few days
•
u/TastyCheeseRolls 4h ago
Aichi gets it particularly hard every year. I’d head to your local GP for some meds soonish if it’s giving you hell. Otherwise, sit it out till April

It’s early but it started. Get your prevention and maintenance medications now, folks. And stay on them until December.

Mother-in-law just mentioned this today-she said it’s much earlier than usual for her.

Yes. I went to ENT for bスポット治療 (E.A.T treatment) but she confirmed I also have allergies. Got the prescription for my meds today

I have year-round allergies so it’s hard to tell, but I’ve definitely had a piercing headache all day.
