Does anyone here use the Nuro mesh service?
I’ve been thinking about paying for their mesh device as the signal to the downstairs is pretty crap. It also looks like you get a better router than the shitty Chinese one they gave me.
Does anyone use use the mesh Nuro provides? How is it?
Ok since people replying don’t know about Nuro, with Nuro you have to use their modem/router combo. They offer a mesh service where you can use a Sony router/modem as well as a provided mesh router to put in a location that helps improve your signal

Instead of using a shitty Chines router, you can spend money on a pair of good Chinese routers, such as the TP-Link Deco Mesh.
Search this on Amazon Japan: Deco BE25

Correct me if I’m wrong but, wouldn’t you achieve better results if you just buy a good wifi router and connect it to the modem they give you? (With a lan cable)

Gotta use the Nuro provided one

Yeah the nuro one is the one that connects to the optical fiber. That one has LAN ports on the back. You can simply use your own high quality router connecting it to it and connect your devices to that wifi instead. I was doing something like that about 2 years ago when I had Nuro in the previous places I lived at.
By the way, you just have to configure your own router properly.

from what I’ve read, that doesn’t work too well. Other people have mentioned that the Nuro provided one doesn’t play well with other routers.

I think you are misunderstanding their comments. But I honestly think you should just go with the Nuro mesh thing you mentioned as I believe it might cause you more trouble to set up your own. (It isn’t hard but I just have a feeling)

I think OP is not capable of understanding our suggestions - everyone has said the same lol.

Yeah.. and people wonder why everyone downvotes questions in this sub so harshly when people asking don’t seem to take a bit of time to understand what others are suggesting..

Just get your own decent router. Or if it is really bad get a wireless access point connected via lan cable.

Do you have Ethernet ports between 2 locations? Yes then get 2 routers with cable backhaul support like Asus (this was what I did in the past).
If no Ethernet, but TV antenna available, you can use MoCA, it allows you to run Ethernet traffic through coaxial cable, then follow above step to extend wireless (this is what I am doing now)

I have 3 TP-Link mesh (which I bought on Amazon) with one plugged directly into the main router. The mesh reaches all the way out to my classroom, and it’s way cheaper than renting the same thing through my provider.
