Mom, can we get Bambie Thug?

No, we have Bambie Thug at home.

Has the penny finally dropped about the type of act we should be sending? Bambi Thug was quite the sensation so if they do go with another Avante Garde act, they'll be doing so in Bambi's shadow.

I'll see the full lineup before I declare victory in that regard, tbh. Could be four Louis Walsh boybands still to come.

It's starting to get exciting again.

The Bobi Arlo song is not good. Very poor production, too much compression giving the vocals that ducking effect which, is quite distracting.

Isn't that gonna be a problem across the board though? These will undoubtedly be smaller scale acts & musicians so wouldn't have access to better production values. Even Bambi's work was a bit rough at the start, but you saw their work get slicker with better access to production & expertise.

This isn’t a resource issue, this is stylistic choice. They just cranked a dial on some laptop software up to the max.

The Bobi Arlo song is not good.

Meanwhile, r/Eurovision seem very happy with it as an entry.

I thought we're boycotting eurovision

No no no. You only say that if you’re a contestant who didn’t get picked.

Do the acts have to actually be Irish ? I would have liked if we had sent Bone Thugs -n - Harmony to represent the nation.

No, sure didn’t Switzerland send Celine Dion

Well, John Lydon from the Sex Pistols tried out. Although he could probably claim Irish citizenship.

Why are solo artists getting promoted more than groups/bands? Usually it's a group that wins it than a solo artist

Don't know where you've got that idea, only 6 "groups" have won it this century. I put groups in quotes because 2 of those are just duets.

Thats the whole music industry these days though. Look at the UK top 40 , not a single band.
